Does the job but not very decorative.To get over that I keep a decorative rug in front of stove and put this one over it when opening door. The best of all worlds!If it’s a fireplace then a decorative fire resistant is the way to go. But they can be burnt if coal is on them for any length of time.This is fine if you don’t mind a plain look.

I wanted a hearth rug to protect my carpet from burning due to embers from my stove.I chose this one because it’s fireproof, not just fire resistant and there’s a choice of colours.It’s not too thick, perfect size and will do exactly what I need it to.

As I have a coal fire this rug is perfect and it stops my cat scratching the fireside rug!

Bought this to protect the wood flooring....and whilst it does that, it also gets filthy very quickly, so be prepared to wipe this down after every lit fire.....and probably twice.

I wish I knew about this rug before, it does what it says on the tin and it looks good, very pleased with it.

Waste of money. Micro thin. Curls up. Looks like plastic. Shouldn’t be advertised as a rug.

Purchased this fire resistant to protect carpet from burning embers from log fire.Mat has only been in use for a few times recently but unfortunately a small ember fell from fire onto the edge of the mat and melted the stitching,Even after being quickly removed from mat, it appears to have burned through fireproof materials at folded edges and stitchine so very disappointed with product.Just looks like a bad quality or design issue in my opinion.Mat certainly looked like a quality fireproof mat but alas it is certainly not fully fire or melt proof as claimed.Have contacted out of courtesy both Seller regarding product warranty and refund or replacement but heard nothing back yet from Seller after 1 week so possible on holiday or closed??Contacted contact Amazon Customer Services regarding issue with mat and warranty query as none specified from deller.Amazon C.S. offered Refund.Disappointed with this branded mat as really liked the shape and design but will need to look elsewhere for suitable replacement.Thanks

Very thin yet seems like it does the job. We have new floor and a new carpet near the fireplace, and the thinness of this hearth rug allows us to store the mat under the rug when the fireplace is not in use. And the large 32" by 60" size will catch all errant embers!
