Petlove Large Roadkill Skunk

I own a playful boisterous German shepherd dog and like many owners, of dogs who have a strong bite, it is very hard to find toys that last. So looking at the blurb and reviews for the Petlove Large Roadkill Skunk I thought I had found a toy that would give my dog hours of fun. How wrong I was.To be honest, I was not expecting much for a £5 but when this toy arrived it was really insubstantial. It was described as large, however, it came in a standard sized envelop. I took out this vaguely animal shaped piece of material that resembled one of those cheap soft toys you could win at a travelling fair minus the stuffing, and found I could roll it up and stuff it in my shirt pocket, hardly large size.Anyways, I took the toy out to my dog in the garden and threw it to her. I can't tell you how long it was before the toy started to show signs of damage, because, unfortunately, my watch doesn't measure time in nanoseconds. No sooner had my dog got hold of this than bits started to come off. Within minutes she had silenced both squeakers. Then over the next hour she systematically shredded this toy to soggy confetti size pieces. It looked like it had been passed through a wood chipper. Most of it ended up being scattered all over my lawn and then my dog managed to traipse the rest of it through my house. So Petloves boast of ` the bonus of having a non-stuffed toy is that no matter how long your dog has it, and how destructive they are, there is no stuffing to be spread all over your floor or garden' is totally meaningless when the toy itself makes just as much mess.Yes, German shepherd dogs are strong dogs with a powerful bite however I believe my Sister's Jack Russell would have made just as good a job of destroying this toy. I don't know how the other reviewers managed to make this toy last. I assume they made their dogs wear a muzzle first before playing with it. This would probably make a good toy for a cat if you tied string to it and pulled it around. Providing your cat is not too rough with it. It should provide many minutes of fun.If you are considering buying this for your dog, and your dog is not one of the delicate breeds. Then I suggest you give your dog a £5 note instead. It will last longer and it means you can cut out the middle man.

I bought this because my yorkie poo is black with a white stripe and he adored the last one he got. ( from a different place) this one seems better. Still all in one peice after 24hrs and the 2 squeakers still in place! My older yorkie even loves it and he rarely plays with toys, so a success all round!.

My dog couldn't contain himself when he caught sight of this and was jumping up and down like a mini jack-in-the-box. He loves the stuffingless toys (well, he loves the stuffed ones too, but I don't love him eating the stuffing). This one is great value - two squeakers so double the fun. The first limb has been removed within 24 hours of him getting his paws on it, but that's incidental to his enjoyment. He's happily run about the house with this in his jaws. I'm sure the squeakers will go within the week (he usually disembowells them pretty quickly) but that doesn't affect his enjoyment of it, and a fiver is a small price to pay for that.

I wanted to get a toy for a lovely bullmastiff who of course is growing fast. I bought this due to the responses on here and I am glad I did.He loves this! The two squeakers are a great idea and he is loving how he can pull on it and throw it around and it doesn't show any signs of tearing.5 stars, easiest decision ever.

Sadly this did not last two hours. My Jack Russell demolished the squeeker within about 15 minutes and the legs were the next to be pulled off. Very disappointed and would not purchase again.

I play in a group called the Dead Skunk in the Road Music Society so this little fella "Wainwright," is the perfect mascot. Plus he can squeak along with the tunes, hahaha!!!

My dogs absolutely love this toy. Its even stands up to their tug of war games and chewing it. Best thing I've bought them in ages
