After the events that took place in injustice year 4 volume one, volume 2 continues with the Gods of Olympus temporarily taking over, where the regime left off. Elsewhere Harley Quinn, Billy batson and, hippolyta have been sent to the hellish underworld, Tartarus. The fearless trio eventually manage to escape from Tartarus but, end up on a place far worse, the planet Apokolips. Where they end up being held prisoner by Darkseid. Superman turns up to rescue them and, ends up facing off against Darkseid, in a titanic battle and, neither one is holding back.While all this is going on, the remaining governments on earth, have decided that the only way to stop the Olympian gods and their despotic rule. Is to launch a nuclear attack on Themyscira.Included in year 4 volume 2, is the injustice annual number 4. The storyline is called ' the trench ' and, it's written by returning writer Tom Taylor. It explains the story of plastic man and his attempt to break his son out of the underwater prison where he is being held. Setting the scene for massive prison break. Which will set things in motion for the storylines, that are yet to come in year 5.
