I've never had or done dip nails, however if they're similar to acrylic then yes they're fine. I like these buffers, no black residue.

Q: Is there a fine side for smoothing natural nails or is there a heavy grit on all sides?

They’re covered with the very same rough grit on 3 sides, and plain foam on the fourth. I tried one...one time and found it TOO ROUGH for human nails. Best used on rusty bumpers.
