I really do not understand the negative comments.This is a beautiful lava lamp.Going to buy two more.Any darker base fluid that is not clear will look a little cloudy

I was hesitant to purchase from Spencer’s rather than the Lava lamp original brand…and I should have followed that. First, the lamp red “frame” was bent and cheaply made with aluminum. Had to bend it back in shape for the glass to fit right. Second, the bulb was broken…had to buy new. Lastly, when I tried plugging it in and leaving on for hours, it never worked! The wax just sat there plus the liquid is foggy. Overall VERY disappointing!

I have been hesitant to buy from Spencer’s on here because they seem to have really bad luck with lamps arriving cloudy and then asking you to cycle it basically until your return window closes.Not the case this time!I really liked the red fluid/black wax look so I rolled the dice and got one where the bottle is pristine. The black wax is shiny so it reflects more highlights than my other lamps. Put it in the middle of my collection so it could show off a little.Only thing I noticed on delivery was that there was a tiny dent on the back of the base. Didn’t distort the lamp or affect the way it works. It also turns out I liked it better using an old pre 2010 matte black base I have sitting around better. It looks like it belongs in an evil villain’s layer now!The bubbles are a bit smaller that I would like using the included bulb, so u will put it on a dimmer where I can get as picky as I like on the flow.Thanks for the gorgeous lamp!

Pretty much what happens when a lamp is at the END of its life only had it a few weeks

I recieved it today and loved the color. However it only came with one bulb. It was lacking the replacement bulb it states comes with it. Also my one and only bulb was no good. So 1 star review. 5 star review if it had everything it states and if it was all in working order.

I read reviews, decided to get one & hoped for the best. Many state the liquid is cloudy.. Unfortunately the liquid/wax section is horribly cloudy red. The black wax appears to be more of a dark grey due to the cloudiness of the fluid, however the wax IS black tho. It just doesn't look as dark as the product picture.Many have received this item in good working & appearance condition.. what I received & several others have also received are lamps less than satisfactory. Which is a shame.I reallly wanted to keep this lamp, kept my fingers crossed it would clear up. I can say that even with it's cloudy red fluid.. It does still look pretty cool, the wax bubbles seem more ghost like & somewhat ethereal as apposed to how it's "supposed to" look.I guess if you don't necessarily mind the cloudness of the fluid.. You're Really going to like this lamp. It does look pretty awesome overall.The striking color of the base alone is eye catching enough that if you're willing to buy a different lamp & swap out the liquid/wax section with a different one & use the red base with it. You're going to have a REAAALLLY nice lava lamp. The base is really that nice of a color. So much so I might be doing what I suggested & just get a different lamp, use it with the red base.Overall.. If youre willing to receive a potentially cloudy product... You'll like this lamp for sure. Otherwise, unfortunately you might wanna have to pass on this.

This was the perfect Christmas gift for my nephew. Its a perfect size for him to have on his nightstand and read a book. The lamp is great quality.

Not sure if it’s old and sat at the warehouse too long, or if it’s something else, but once the lava heats up it all just globs up at the top cone of the lamp and sits there. Once it’s turned off, it hardens up at the top. It’s very cool looking in the pictures, but I wish it worked like a normal lava lamp.•UPDATE!!!•I waited too long to return the lava lamp and didn’t leave a review right away either. I ordered in March, received in April and left the review in June. I didn’t even expect anything to come of it, but Spencer’s reached out to me the same day I left this review and by the next day, they already shipped me a replacement! I got it a couple of days ago and IT IS PERFECT! It works beautifully and I am BEYOND impressed with this level of customer service. It’s not often a company reaches out to you, the consumer, to remedy a situation. This is great customer service and now I have a functional working beautiful lava lamp! Thank you Spencer’s!!
