Fabulous book
I think Millie Bobby Brown is a fantastic actress and so I really wanted to love this book and I did. I did not know the story of the tube disaster, told in such a dramatic, heart wrenching way but around the love story of the two main characters. I hope this gets tried I to a film.

Great read
Really enjoyed this debut novel by Millie. The story is set during the Second World War in London. The characters are brought to life so well and the story gives a realistic view of everyday life during the war years. A great first novel for Mille.

interesting story but so predictable
Based on a real story and very readable. However the story plot was very predictable and often seemed to repeat itself.

Wonderful
I couldn’t put this down once I started it. It was the best I have read for a while.I have read other books that have said about the incident but not very much, this one really went deep into it, hoping that she will write some more, my daughter has now asked to borrow it.One thing that does confuse me is the warning for it, not to be read near overhead power lines?

An OG Rosie the Riveter LOVES this novel.
I had the good fortune to meet Millie Bobbie Brown at her book signing. She said at her interview for the Chicago Humanities that it is important for her characters to be real. This extraordinary book is so full of emotion.I knew my friend Mae an original Rosie the Riveter would love her story. And she did. Here is her review. Annie, You can't believe that I finished the book you sent to me - Nineteen Steps. I couldn't put it down this weekend. It was such a good book - so English!!! I had a good friend from England who had married a GI during the war. She told me so many stories about her life in London and the blitz. So much of this story was the story of her life. She passed away many years ago, but her stories always stayed with me. This book and stories really made me think of her and the fun we had together while she was on this earth.
