Military Aircraft of the Cold War (The Aviation Factfile)

I have quite a large library of post WW2 aircraft.This is a gigantuan leap in quality and information. The aircraft are listed in manufacturer order, I have not finished sucking all the goodness out of this very generous volume. When I do I will try to do an update suffice to say this book will be reconsulted time and time again which is how good it is as you can always find a nugget of fact that you missed first time round. I am vastly impressed.

I wanted one book that would cover my favourite period of aircraft design. It is a tribute to the diversity of design that the book is as thick as an Argos catalogue. For the price it is unbelievable. Now stop reading the review and buy the book you won't regret it.

What it says on the tin, which means its a detailed, nicely illustrated and laid out book which I think anyone who has an an interest in this era's aircraft will find a really enjoyable read and resource.

Well produced book with two page spreads for all the major military aircraft used during the Cold War (1950-1970ish). Excellent photographs and drawings, interesting and useful captions, unique diagrams of performance, range, armament etc. Nothing dramatically new compared with similar books - but this series is a delight to browse through.
