Works very well, does everything I need. Update needs new clip, sent me new leash in same pattern!
Update: the seller is great! Instead of sending me a new clip, they sent me another leash in the same pattern, even though it isn’t sold anymore!Update to seller- the stitches ripped after a few months and I lost part of the clip. Can you send me a new clip please?I’m happy I got this. I was tired of trying to remember where I’d left my phone at home. It’s comfortable and durable so far. I really like the Oriental pattern. After I attach the strap through my Otterbox Defender rubber outer case, I easily insert the inner case with my phone in it into the rubber case. The neck strap, wrist strap, and Hand strap are all comfortable, easy to use, and durable. I really like how the strap is threaded through the buckle. It’s easy to put together and easy to undo so I can remove the leash from my phone. But the strap doesn’t slip through the buckle so the leash comes undone. It’s stays firmly attached. My only problem was one that other reviewers have mentioned. When hung around my neck the phone dangles below my waist. I fixed this by bending open a paper clip so that there is a hook at both ends. I put one hook in through the strap just above the phone, where there are several layers in the strap. The other hook through the lower end of the neck strap where the strap is sewn together. This arrangement shortens the strap so the phone hangs at the middle of my chest. The hooks can come undone if I move around a lot so the phone is swinging. I think the manufacturer should add something to fix this. But otherwise everything I’d hoped for.

Five years later, I’m still obsessed
I ordered my first foneleash in Nov 2018 and as of May 2024 I’m still using it.It works with any phone case, but you do need a case. I currently have the OtterBox Commuter Series and it’s a tight fit that isn’t my favorite. I’m switching back to the Defender Series which worked much better. The difference is in how the bottom corner stays flush to the phone despite the Foneleash leading through.I wear this CONSTANTLY. I can hook my key and wallet to it and off I go. It’s handy to always have my camera / phone available and it’s sturdy. I find it comfortable - doesn’t dig into my neck. It’s not cheap lanyard material but rather a high-quality, tightly woven nylon? It’s also easy to clean. I throw it in a sink of soapy water and swish it around, rinse and hang to dry.I also love the length of the strap for hanging out of my bags but being deep inside so as to not slip out. I can easily locate it because of the long lanyard but without worry that it will fall out when jostled.I have tried other contraptions but as someone who always has a case on my phone and wants to keep it close 24/7 - this is my jam. I love Foneleash!!

adjuster tends to slip, but serves its purpose and looks good
I bought this last spring because I knew I was going to be staying in a hostel and wanted to be able to strap my phone to my wrist so it'd be harder to swipe. Worked like a charm (not to say anybody tried to steal it). The part of the strap along the back of the phone tends to get slack every few days, but otherwise I have no complaints. The strap is also soft enough not to rub uncalloused hands raw.I don't use the lanyard part, so I don't know how readily the clip can spontaneously slip and drop your cell while it's hanging around your neck. That's just the kind of thing I'd tend not to trust.

Perfect if you have trouble with your hands!
UPDATE: 06/25/2019I love this item so much that I’ve ordered two more in different colors. I bought the Shades of Grey first, then Cosmic Galaxy, then Lucky Spade. I emailed Marvin at Foneleash with some questions about the color of Lucky Spade, as the photos I’d seen of it were of the original ones that are super dark, almost black, so I wasn’t sure I’d received the right item, as the newer ones are a lot lighter, like Lucky Spade 2.0, although they are still slightly different prints. Anyhow, Marvin was amazing. He replied super quickly to my questions and was only concerned with making sure that I was happy! That is absolutely above and beyond what I expect with customer service. He explained that the oldest ones from when they first started making them were super dark, almost black, but they can’t source that color in the nylon webbing anymore, so the current Lucky Spade is lighter. He offered to see if he had any of the original darker ones lying around the workshop, or to refund me so that I could buy either Lucky Spade 2.0, or the solid black that should be restocked here on Amazon in a week or so, and on the Foneleash website within a few days. I told him that wasn’t necessary at all, and I’d honestly feel kind of bad about it. I mean, the item isn’t defective! I just went with the assumption that Lucky Spade was still super dark like the OG one, even though there’s nothing that says it still is. Even still, he said he’d refund me, and he did. He told me to gift this one if I didn’t want to use it myself, and to pick up the black one with my refund. I think we exchanged about a dozen emails? That’s how incredibly invested he was in making sure I was happy with my purchase!Seriously, if you have any issues or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to Marvin at Foneleash. His email is on the Foneleash website. As long as you’re using a rigid case with enough of an opening at the camera hole, or if it’s an iPhone XS/XR, one with a logo cutout to thread the strap through, you shouldn’t have any trouble with the Foneleash. Super slim, tight fitting clamshell cases don’t work well, but for me and my iPhone XS Max, the Spigen Tough Armor XP case is PERFECT. I’ve heard good things about the Otterbox Defender, as it has the logo cutout and you can remove the clear plastic that is apparently in that little cutout window to thread the strap through, and since the dust plug hinge is attached in the front, it doesn’t make for a slightly awkward fit like the Otterbox Commuter case possibly would. As far as I can tell, the Commuter and the Spigen Tough Armor are pretty similar anyhow. So, I plan to buy the Foneleash in solid black when it’s available on here, and honestly, I like them so much, I may end up just buying all of the colorways. I decided I wanted something dark, almost black, after I managed to spill tea on myself and my Shades of Grey Foneleash, as I am a bit of a clutz and I worry about staining it in the future. It washed up beautifully though.Get yourself the right kind of case, get yourself a Foneleash, and as long as you’ve read plenty of the reviews and questions, and you understand exactly what you’re ordering, you’ll seriously love this thing!Shoutout to Marv at Foneleash for being beyond amazing!!!I ordered this right after I’d ordered a new iPhone XS Max, as I have a habit of accidentally dropping my phone. I have some problems with fine motor skills and my hands suddenly spasming, due to nerve damage and fibromyalgia. The iPhone XS Max has a glass back and is the most expensive iPhone yet. You can see how that could end up being an absolutely horrible situation in the making. Sure, I’ve got insurance on it, but I’d really rather not have to use it!I’d looked at similar options to this that have the adhesive tabs with an attached loop for a tether or lanyard, but they don’t seem to be as strong or durable as the Foneleash is. I need durable. It’s slightly disappointing that I’m limited in what cases I can use this with, as it needs to be a case with the Apple logo cutout in the back, but that is the fault of case designers and manufacturers, not Foneleash. Previous versions of the iPhone that have the horizontal camera cutout should work fine with this, as well as most non-iPhones out there. You definitely want a rigid case, because you don’t want the tension of the strap pulling your case off of your phone. I paired mine with a Spigen case. I believe it’s a Tough Armor or Rough Armor case? It’s the one with the neon yellow extra padding inside of it. Any of their cases with the logo cutout would be fine. The case doesn’t sit perfectly flush at the very bottom, and that’s due to the very minimal bulk of the strap itself, but it’s such a minuscule amount that it doesn’t affect access to the Lightning port, nor does it cover the speakers. It doesn’t affect how the case protects the phone at all. It’s just something that my obsessive self noticed when I first put it on. It really doesn’t matter, but I thought I’d share it. It may be due to the specific Spigen case I purchased, as this is the one with the extra shock absorbing padding inside. Either way, it doesn’t detract from the strap! The leash itself is easy to put on your case, and it functions as a handstrap once installed, if you don’t tighten it all the way. There’s also the wrist strap, which is perfect for your average woman’s wrist, but may be a bit snug for men to get over their hand. The neck lanyard is comfortable, and the plastic clip connecting the neck lanyard with the rest of the leash is really durable. The material the leash is made from is a super high density nylon (I’m assuming?) weave, and I can’t really imagine it wearing out easily. The stitching is perfect, and there are no loose threads. It’s really well made with quality materials. Absolutely worth every penny and then some!I’m really glad I found this, because people with disabilities tend to need adaptive devices like straps, lanyards, handles, whatever, for mobile devices, and the case industry basically ignores us. This wasn’t necessarily the demographic that the creator had in mind when he came up with this, but I’m incredibly grateful to him anyhow.I actually came back to buy another strap, because I’d like to have it in another color, but they’re all gone from Amazon! I guess I’ll go order directly from their website.Oh, totally random and not relevant, but I noticed that the founder of Marventures is named Marvin, and that caught my eye, because I’m married to a Marvin! It’s a great name, and in my experience, Marvins are pretty great too. So, thanks Marv! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming up with this brilliant creation!I’d love to see more colors. Especially a super bright, like, obnoxiously bright neon purple! Since I’m limited with the cases I can use with the Foneleash, I guess I’ll just have to get multiple Foneleashes to change the look of my basic black case. Either way, I’m not worried about dropping my painfully expensive new iPhone now, and that’s what matters the most!

One of the best things I've ever bought
I've had this for five years and it's brilliant. It won't suit everyone or all phone cases (I have to buy mine accordingly) but it's been in daily use for all these years and is like new.
