The Nutcracker Paperback – Picture Book, 23 Aug. 2016

This is quite simply a beautiful book, the illustrations are of simple but high quality and look timeless as they draw upon traditional folk art. The story itself is wonderful, a fairytale full of magic and wonder that inspired Tchaikovsky to write the sublime ballet of the same name. The story is written in very short chapters which really brings the story along nicely.

I bought two books, one for myself and one for a Christmas gift. An informative magical enlightening story of the 'Nutcracker.'

The book is exactly what we were looking for as a gift for out Nutcracker mad granddaughter. It's just a pity that both corners, top and bottom of the spine were damaged, damage which may have been caused by the book sliding around in the packaging but could have occurred before packing.

LOVE this book, so so beautiful, I bought one each for my sisters and I, the nutcracker has a special place in my heart so to have a book that matches how magical & beautiful the story is makes me so happy! There was tiny very light scuffs on two of them but they were barely noticeable & not really even worth mentioning but I like to know every detail when I read the reviews

Lovely easy to read presentation of the classic story. Mum & I used this to get familiar with the story prior to watching the ballet.

I didn't really enjoy this version. I found it disjointed in places, rather frightening for a children's story, somewhat confusing with some of the translation and overall, it didn't quite capture my imagination. On the plus side, it is very short and was a quick read which meant that I was able to complete it for a book group. Our opinions varied because we discovered that we had a variety of translations between us... so don't be put off by my opinion, it's probably worth trying another one.

I was familiar with the Nutcracker ballet but had never before read the story. I was delighted by this wildly imaginative tale and it was fun to see how certain scenes correspond with the ballet. This is a beautiful book with fabulous illustrations by Sanna Annuka.

Beautiful cover and lovely story for the holidays.

I like the book as a special gift for my grand children. I plan to read it first, because I only knew the story through the music and play. I am impressed with the quality of this classic.

I bought this book for Rs 599.Usually the price is always above Rs 1000.The binding is good and there are lot of illustrations.
