Q: Hello, i always used lard when pastry making, but am finding it increasingly hard to obtain. what's crisco like for pastry please? many thanks!

It's amazing!! I'm American so was brought up using crisco for all my baking and I've tried lard & Trex but I find crisco makes the flakiest pie crust. I hope this helps :)

Q: Why is this lard so expensive?

I believe because it is imported, but it does go a long way.

Q: What is the shelf life of this product! And how long does it keep once opened?

My Crisco had a 2 year expiring date and says on the can use within a year after opening.

Q: In the description it says "item package quantity: 4" Is this really correct, 4 tins at 1.3kg each?!!!! Or should Amazon amend the description?

It’s just one tin and I will never use it again it’s not what I would use in pastry making it’s disgusting il stick with butter pastry in future
