Police with conflict.
Why oh why, are our policemen always falling over, tripping up, getting drugged or just battered by anyone, small, large, male female, children or even animals. Never mind I enjoyed it mostly and the tour of Glasgow. Cheers.

Hmm…
…I think Stephanie is a bit of an anodyne drunk. Alcoholics can be a lot more toxic! Okay, she drove away her children, but being penitent as early as the next day seemed a bit unrealistic. Other than that - some good stuff. Someone is murdering people who travel by subway. The motive turns out to be a bit esoteric, and the sexual violence rather glossed over, when I would have thought it would be the main motivation, and the justification for it cobbled together to make an ‘acceptable’ motive. I did quite enjoy the book, but not as much as the last.

Needs a bit of polish
I really enjoyed both books but a couple of things need tweaking. Firstly, there were a few times "spoken" sentences rolled into one, so you weren't sure who had said what. The second thing that I didn't like was the fact that when the officers were speaking, they kept saying street as St or road as Rd. If you're saying those words out loud, you say it in full and not as an abbreviation, otherwise it would sound as though you were saying sit and rid. Minor things I know, but it stopped me from giving 5 stars.Other than that, I thought they were good books and would definitely read more from this author in the future

Need some more in this series
Well written and very believable plot. A fair number of suspects, all of whom you could believe did the murders - but the ending is quite a surprise. As a Glaswegian, the plot places were obviously well known which added to the enjoyment of this book

Not my favourite read this year
Despite not enjoying the first book I thought I’d give this one a go too, but didn’t like this one either. Skipped through vast pages of descriptions of buildings etc. Author could elaborate on the main characters family, why does he side with his alcoholic wife and not with his children? So what if they went to The Maldives, doubt I’ll read anymore of his books
