PERFECT replacement for Kramer Striker!
Recently bought a used Kramer Striker guitar with a botched solder job that ruined the output jack. This one was a perfect replacement! The item doesn't come with instructions, but was an easy install. The ground is the largest tab, and the signal tab is the smallest, right beside the ground. The other two are shorted to ground when using a 1/4" mono (tip-sleeve) cable, but may be intended for stereo cables (tip-ring-sleeve). The finish is like black chrome, not like a painted part.

Input replacement in less than 24 hours to my doorstep, after 2 unsuccessful music store trips
A great replacement barrel shipped to my doorstop within a day of purchase. Went to 2 separate music stores for this simple input and came up empty handed. How? Why? Well, they want me to drop off my guitar and have them solder a whole two points for me while charging me a ridiculously high repair fee than have the part available to the customer for sale. In the past I would have gone to Radio Shack and skipped the music store. I should have just come to Amazon first. This is the type of shopping experience example that brick and mortar need to learn from in order to please their customers. Any musician can tell you how ridiculous trying to buy musical gear and/or parts can be just due to how the Music retail chains treat customers. As for the build quality, installation/repair was a 10 minute breeze, most of that time being the heating of the solder gun. Great connection to the 1/4" cable with a solid lock and click sound. Cable is locked tight with no movement and very little buzz. Input has been installed for several months now with no issues. Being an internal barrel connection I know the life of this input is limited, so over time the internal connection will degrade, in which I will once again replace the input.

Better quality than the ones that come in many guitars
This was needed to replace a very low quality version of something similar. This works much better. HINT: if you are not using the stereo connection, make them ground and you will get a better ground connection. In my case I connected all the pins except the 'hot' tip connector to ground.

Great product
This is built to last and looks awesome. I installed it on my custom build and works great. This guitar has no noise when I leave it plugged in with the volume all the way up.

Nice design,. Gasket too big.
The design is nice. I found the tabs to be a bit brittle metal and trying to bend pins I did not need they just snapped clean off. May contribute to fatigue failure in the future. The rubber gasket/o-ring was much larger diameter than the flange and the guitar hole did not accomodate that. I had to reuse the old o-ring and find an alternate on a second one which ended up being a washer only. Good feel on cord insertion and retention of the cord feels positive. Great replacement for some worn out parts.

Easy to Wire for Battery On/Off
This was exactly what I needed when rewiring an old electric bass with new active electronics. Using the stereo wiring, this jack also serves as the on/off switch for the 9-volt battery that powers the preamp.

Disappointed. Waste of money.
I’ve purchased three of these over the last few years. The first two worked fine. Installed the most recent one last night. Opened the package to find the Jack had solder on it already. Installed it anyway, only to find out it is defective. It was likely installed previously and repacked and sold as new. I’m well past the return window, unfortunately, but at least I can still write a review. Check your items upon receiving them, or you may end up with someone’s trash!

worked well, my input has been intermittent in my one guitar for over a decade and I finally got off my ass and fixed it. I just wired it up mono, so I just soldered the ground across both channel posts as suggested by someone on reddit and it works great.

By far the most shoddily made socket I have ever fitted (or in this case, attempted to fit). First of all, it doesn't seem to grip the plug well - and more force than usual is needed to insert it. You should feel the tip lock into the spring - not in this case. On the connection side, the tags are extremely fragile and snap off if you attempt to bend them out, as is sometimes necessary. The pin-outs are very odd, and bear no relation to any other socket of this type. Bear this in mind if you are replacing a socket like for like. Getting this wrong is especially important if you have actives for which the ring acts as a switch. Take a stereo jack plug and a multimeter and trace out tip, ring, shield to be certain. A short here could fry your circuit and make for an expensive repair. .

Buy a switch craft one and save your frustrations This has the most numb feeling on inserting a Jack plug Then crackles and breaks contact as bad as the Brocken one it was replacing Avoid
