My daughter bought this for my son as a birthday gift. Overall, they both were happy with it, but it does have some flaws.First, the bag that it is in is very poor quality and started coming unsewn and raveling.The chess pieces are magnetic, as advertised, but the checker pieces aren’t. This poses a problem for storage more than anything.The storage space for the checkers is not quite large enough. The foam is not cut large enough to accommodate the pieces, which, combined with the checker pieces not being magnetic, makes it hard for them to stay in their storage spot.The chess pieces are very detailed in design, which makes them seem very good quality. They have velvet bottoms, which helps them slide on the board easily, making moves easy to complete.The wood look of the board is very nice and makes it look quite high quality.All in all, my son loved this gift from his sister, even with a few flaws. I think he will have the board to use for a long time to come.

This chess set was very high quality for a cheap price. I have seriously enjoyed playing on this and haven't noticed any major drawbacks. This chess set has magnetic pieces, two extra queens, can be folded in order to travel with, and has amazing colors. It also comes with a checkers set. I'm about to to this set with me on an 18 hour bus ride to New Mexico and am excited to play with it even more.

Excellent value for the price. The case/playing board is well made and attractive. The chess pieces are a simple classic design but well made. The magnetic feature works well allowing movement of the board and allows me to play matches with my wife who is disabled and often bed ridden. She really enjoys the ability to use it on the bed without worries about the pieces falling over if she moves in the bed. This set is an excellent inexpensive chess set at a great price point. Highly recommend it. 5 stars across the board.

My son wanted to learn how to play chess, but I didn't want to make a huge investment. This set is sturdy for kids to play with, looks attractive, stores away nicely when not in use. It's a great size, not too small, so it's easier to see the whole board and move pieces without knocking anything over. The checkers set is a nice addition too.

Just as good as advertised. nice large board with both chess and checker pieces. the foam slots in the back allows you to flip the board over to play checker without having the chess pieces fall out...nice! Chess pieces have magnetic base to keep them from slipping. However, the checker pieces are plain wooden and no magnet...would be cooler if they were also magnetic. Overall, great quality and great price!

Chess and checker pieces are well made. Chess pieces are sticky enough to be stable on the board. Board is of good quality. Only complaint is that the squares on the board aren't aligned perfectly. They are offset as shown in the picture. Also few pieces seem to have lost their stickiness. Good storage bag ad instructions.

The quality is amazing! I have bought other chess boards before, and this is by far my favorite. The chess pieces are all nicely crafted and magnetized. The chess board also folds which is great for travel. It also comes with a booklet showing beginners how to play chess. If you collect board games, this is a great addition for your collection.

Pieces and board are of good quality, however the pieces should be held more securely so the board can be utilized without all the pieces falling out.
