A Year in Our New Garden Hardcover – Picture Book, May 15, 2016

I think it's important to know that this is a newer edition of the book "The Garden in the City" by Gerda Muller, printed by Dutton Children's books. The quality of the pictures in this newer adaptation; "A Year in our New Garden" is a little over-exposed and the style of the writing is quite disappointing. There is a gentleness and a slow pace in the older publication, which I feel is lost is this adaptation. Despite that, this is still a beautiful book and wonderful story. I probably would have kept it had I not known about the older edition.

What a wonderful book! Especially for city kids... bringing nature and gardening into the city. Beautifully illustrated too!

Another great book by Gerda Muller. What a treasure. The beautiful detailed pictures, the helpful information to actually get you started, this is much more than a beautiful picture book. Every time we read this book (I have a 5, 8 and 10 year old), my kids want to run into the yard and start gardening. Gerda Muller's books are inspiring, motivating and help our children to love nature.

The pictures in this book are exquisite. I wish the children hadn't had a fight in the middle of the story. I think I will be giving my grandchildren How Does My Garden Grow and How Does My Fruit Grow instead.

The story and pictures are beautiful like all of her books. I want every one of them!

The illustrations are beautiful, the story is too... A wonderful journey through a year with a new garden and how the family bring it to life... A must for any child's library.

LOVE all her books and this one is another favorite for us especially our 3yo daughter, she is already planning her plot for spring. It’s not a read front to back which I love we go through and pick a few pages to read (we have a baby so this works for us!) beautiful images always informative
