Attenborough: 60 Years in the Wild [DVD & UV Copy]

My family love David Attenborough programmes, so was thrilled when I saw this, next time I should learn to read the reviews, because when it arrived it came cellophaned, mine was Intendered to be a present so didn't want to spoil it, but upon my excitement I opened it, glad I did because as others have said the calendar is 2013,useless to the person intended, book damaged on the edges even a page was slightly ripped, but apart from that if it wasn't for the bad comments I have wrote about this would of been a perfect present, if you wondering lol I have kept the box set myself because isn't worth given as a present.

David shows us how technology has advanced and it's adaptions used for our pleasure. We see how the Earth is changing, for better and worse, so that we can understand more of the 'whys' and 'where for's. I have a holiday in my sitting room. It's impossible for most of us to see the world, the animals that we rely on, their lives/colours/ways so like ours, but here we see from the sky under the water in the caves and forests. This has been my 'happy hour'.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, we didn't spend Xmas together so he saved his presents until we were together in the new year-we opened our presents together then, he loves David Attenborough so imagine how I felt when he opened this box set (which was in cellophane) only to find inside the box was ok'd ant torn, the calendar was 2013 and the book look like it was well used, the edges were all upturned and old- this must be a scam!!

A great collection of archive clips all stitched together and presented by Sir David really helps to show how great this guy is.Inspiring stories of the films he watched as a child and mimicked before coming the great broadcaster he is. The struggles he faced when trying to get his foot in the BBCs door. The unique experiences he's encountered over the decades. And how he has moved from black and white broadcasting, to colour, to HD, and finally to 3D.Great for the younger generation to appreciate just how much he has done, and reminds the older lot how great he is!The calendar is a nice touch, too, as is the book. All placed carefully into a classy box makes this a perfect gift.A must buy for any Attenborough fan, or any nature fan. Well worth the small asking price.

I have all of David's work. I think. If I see something I don't have I will buy it without question. I especially love his LOST WORLDS LOST LIVES [ I think this is correct ] . This series makes me think that David has reach the saturation point and has run out of subjects to talk about. Now it's time to put a cap on a brilliant career and life and share his experiences and impressions from all that work. I hope this isn't the last. If you haven't been paying attention to what David is saying, this is the message as I see it. Human population is uncontrolled and is now a threat to all life on this precious planet. Species are dying, environments are being corrupted. The solution will hurt. Thank you David for your stewardship of our planet. I hear you.

DVD in good condition and quality of content indisputably marvellous from perhaps the greatest naturalist and communicator of his generation.

What an incredible man and how brilliantly he has always captured his audience with such immense knowledge, like a friend. The development of film and TV technology is astounding.

I have said before - to me Sir David Attenborough can do no wrong and this DVD goes back with him to the start of it all and follows through his long and varied career.If you are an avid viewer of Natural History TV programs most of what is on the DVD you will have seen at some time - but this collects everything together on one DVD, together with the great man's stories.
