ASICMiner Block Erupter USB 336MH/s Sapphire Miner - New Model (Thin) (Black)

I purchased this ASIC miner only because I needed a little more hashing power to withdraw from the pool I was mining on. When I got it, I didn't expect it to pay for itself, and sure enough, it will likely never pay for itself over the remainder of its life. Periodically, it stops working, which stalls the miner, and requires me to disconnect and reconnect it to get it working again. This could just be my computer though, and some people have pointed out great success with stability. Since the difficulty for Bitcoin keep going up, this unit is not a practical use of your money unless you can get a good deal on a large farm of them, as one unit is extremely inefficient. If you are looking for a serious Bitcoin mining setup, look for something else. Otherwise, if you just want to play around with cryptocurrency and don't really care about turning a profit, then this unit should sate your curiosity.Pros:Doesn't require an external power source to run.Cons:It requires some kind of additional cooling, since it gets hot. A small fan will work, or you can strap it to a decent PC heatsync.It isn't fast enough to expect ROI unless Bitcoin difficulty takes a dive, or a new SHA256 coin comes around.

Still working Great. Low mining lower vs the current equipment but tough little suckers that keep working.

I use BitMinter and I have been using only my CPU for while. I snatched two of these bad boys up and I'm already making over 30 times what I was without them. As you can probably tell I'm a bit new to this and it's just a hobby for me now, but it's fun hearing these little miners work. I'm getting over 600m/hps off each miner, a lot more than the 200K/phs I get from my CPU! I recommend these for anyone just starting out in bit mining, they're fun and they work. Installing was very easy, just plugged them into my Windows 7 machine one at a time.

$43 for a ~333 erupter?They sold for $8 a few weeks back. Enjoy never getting your investment back after the next difficulty level.
