I got this heat mask for dry eyes, and I was very surprised at how well it works. First, I was surprised to discover that this dry item actually does produce moist heat, without my having to add any moisture.Then, I was pleasantly surprised at how refreshed my eyes feel after using it.What I've read about warm compresses and dry eyes is that the warmth thins the natural oil in the glands that feed lubricating oils into your tears. These oils help your tears to evaporate more slowly, and make the tears more effective at soothing your eye's surface. They contribute to the health of your cornea, as well as to your comfort. People who have dry eyes often have inflammation of tear glands, oil glands, or both.What I've found in personal use is that while I can't tell precisely how it's working, I feel much better after I've used my Thermalon moist heat mask. Because the heat is moist, it not only eases the "congestion" in my eyes, but it also comforts the dryness. It's very relaxing to use; it almost feels decadent.One criticism I've seen several users mention is that it doesn't have a slip cover, so it gets dirty and needs washed, requiring a long drying time. While it would be nice if they made one that snaps on or something, one simple solution is to cut the ends off a large sock (I used a boot sock) and slip it over. The sleeve off of an old shirt might work, too. I don't sew at all, and it only took me about 30 seconds to "make" a slip cover for my mask.I have Sjogrens, and have been looking for affordable solutions to my dry eye problems. This is not only the least expensive mask I could find, but unlike the drops, gels, and ointments I use, the mask doesn't need to be purchased month after month. It's so nice to find a product that helps so much without being a constant expense. I just can't get over what a great value this is.

Perfect for Sinus/Migraines! I have bought some of the gel-bead masks, and no matter what microwave I put them in, I end up with a half-full mask and a bunch of liquified beads - even when following directions and microwaving for less time than the max. I saw this and figured "what the hell, it can't be any worse." The moist heat, especially in the eye mask, is WONDERFUL. I find that this retains the heat as well as any of the other eye masks that I have purchased. While some reviewers have remarked that it's heavy or the beads all slide down to the bottom, I have found that if you lay back (Like laying your back on the couch, or in bed) then the weight of the beads actually feels nice. If you try and wear this sitting up, of course all the beads are going to settle at the bottom. But for me, considering I can't see while wearing it anyway, I take the opportunity to lay back and relax (or in the case of a headache, lay back and wait for it to please, dear god, be over). I just lay back, adjust the beads so they are evenly distributed, and wait. This thing has been a life saver since I got it - I almost missed Christmas because of a migraine!Since my purchase, I bought my mom one, I have just recently ordered the sleeve for some joint pain in my hand (and one for my boyfriend's arthritis), and one for those pesky menstrual cramps. I'm a huge fan of these products.While I understand some people would have preferred these come with an elastic strap, rather than a ribbon, I think the ribbon was the right choice. As a woman with long hair, I've had hairs ripped out, and expensive pillowcases destroyed by elastic straps on sleep masks, and eventually, the elastic wears out, meaning you have to move it tighter, exposing more elastic, and damaging more stuff.... I have to buy a new sleep mask every few months because of the elastic bands, and that's an annoyance I'm glad I don't have to deal with here.

I like that you can tie it because I sometimes use mine at bedtime and I can fall asleep with it on and it not falling off. I use mine a lot, it really helps with headaches and relieves sinus pressure.

I wondered if this would help and it does. So easy to use. The ribbon tie is OK but could be a little better.However, it feels so good when used that the ribbon tie is a minor detail. I am very happy I bought this.Would buy it again. This product is worth the price and then some.

I really like it , good quality

I know exactly what I bought, it is good quality, well constructed, but the straps are in the way, they do not help in any way, because, the only way it will stay on your face will be if you are laying down. I had a bag of sand before and the issue for me that I needed to stay down, well here is the same. The heat lasts a little longer, which is good, it will give you 10 good minutes of heat. Pain relief... it will depend on your issue, but it is heat applied to the sinus area, so it will help! if your problem is sinus.

This is great so sinus pressure or even headaches. There is a very fine line for the perfect temperature though. It can be too hot and then shortly after too cold to be effective. In those seconds where the temperature is perfect, it is perfect for face pressure.

I have been nursing a sinus infection and this hot compress has been the bomb. it is the most comfortable and effective one i have found and i have tried a few. i love that it doesn't press too heavily on my eyes. it will be great for my dry eye as well. totally pleased with this purchase.

Really disappointed. Not useful for me. My eye got reddish and started cluster headache

I was looking to use this for cold therapy (it is labeled as Heat-Cold) , so I put it overnight in the freezer, but it doesn't get cold enough for my liking, to help me with headaches, so I will use it as a hot compress to relieve sinus pressure.

As a sufferer of sinusitis I thought I would try this as opposed to medication. Used it twice now and it certainly helps and the shape of the masks sit on the sinuses and the warmth definitely helps with nasal congestion, reduces swelling and pain. Glad I found this mask - would recommend. Thanks

I constantly have sinus infections and this is so much easier to use on my face than a traditional heating pad. It keeps the heat for quite some time and when you go to reheat it you don't have to wait the entire time for it to be hot again. I'm only giving 4 stars as the ties are a bit hard to get them tied at the back of your head. Apart from this, it is a great product.
