Bass wood is always great. I have always ordered and have never been disappointed with this product

Very hard for basswood.
Package label said it came from China. It was well packaged but the wood is very hard.

Good for carving
Great size for carving. One of mine was hard in the middle. Made it hard to work, but can't foresee those things. Will buy again.

This seems like the pine/fir wood we get here. The rings are hard and the lighter part is soft. Not suitable for handcarving
