I have a several of these headache relief hats and this one is one of the best I own. This hat is carefully packed in a box. Inside the box, the headache hat is wrapped in tissue paper and is enclosed in a thick ziplock bag for storing in your refrigerator or freezer. Also included in the box is a detail booklet for directions, a nice note from the seller and a headache record chart to track your migraines, what might have triggered it, symptoms and treatment you used. This would be very helpful information to have if you need additional medical help for your headaches. This is something lacking with most of my other hats. Not a big thing but a very nice presentation.Now the big difference between this hat and other headache hats I've tried. This hat is wide enough so when you put it on, it not only covers my eyes but it also completely covered my ears too. This is very helpful in you're experiencing migraine pain. With a migraine, any light or sound is very painful. So covering the ears helps block out noise.The hat itself has no ice packs in it. It's actually gel infused foam and is so comfortable. It's actually thicker (which would hold the cold longer) than some of my other headache hats. You might even want to get more than one of these headache hats if you're prone to migraines or any headaches, actually. Use one and keep the second in the refrigerator or freezer to use when the first loses its cold. Then swap them out. You can also heat the hat in the microwave for soothing heat.This hat is so cool I can even see myself putting it on my head but not covering my eyes for a day of summer mowing!I commend Blabock for an excellent headache hat but also a very nice presentation. Highly recommend.

My wife tried it for her headaches and it was such a startling contrast from front to back that it made her dizzy from the experience, so she did not like it. We had hoped that it was just that it was only the front being cold that caused the effect, so when I saw this, I thought I would give it a try. She still does not care for the extreme cold that this type gel hat can produce (the gel allows for subfreezing temperatures, thermal gun shows 30.5 deg F. in a freezer showing 28 deg F. freezer walls).I don’t get many headaches, but I’ve tried the hat and I find the effect to be “haunting” in that the memory of the chilling effect stays with me. I rather like the effect. I think for the few headaches I do get, this would work well for me. I have not tried heating it, but we did try using it from the refrigerator instead of the freezer. It worked better for my wife, but did not last staying cold as long, of course.It's well made, comes in a freezer type plastic zip bag, the gel wraps fully around the head, but not over the top, goes on easily, and as I said it can achieve subfreezing temps.

As a person who avoids medicated treatments (when possible), it's truly fantastic to find a non-medicated product that actually works.I have been sleeping with this "hat" on my head for about a week and a half, and the cool, gentle compression around my whole head just feels absolutely wonderful.The quality of the materials seems solid. The stitching is high quality. And the bottom line is that it works...at least it has with me, and there is nothing worse than a migraine headache.A 5-star rating for the high quality product, and a solid recommendation for anyone who suffers with headaches.

I get barometric headaches so bad I’m dizzy. This is great to help ease the throbbing pain. The item is well made, the outer fabric feels very comfortable and sturdy, with a spandex sort of touch. The gel is deep within and the hat is generally shaped well and would fit most people comfortably. I do not really like to have my eyes covered all the time and pull the hat up a bit so I can still watch tv but do not have to struggle or be in bed to have ice on my head. I’ve only placed in the fridge because that’s the temperature I want. It actually just feels cool to the touch to start. The cool last enough that I feel like I got a benefit and it cools back down quickly, in an hour or so in fridge, I’m sure quicker in freezer. I’ve thought many times I wanted a way to keep the ice on my head and am glad I finally found this. Would definitely buy again.

I already had two of these migraine hats, but when I saw that this one has a concave design for the eyes, I thought that would be perfect for heat! The reason I own two, is because I always keep one in the fridge and I have another one room temp that can be heated. But I digress.I haven't had a chance to use this one yet, but my husband had a headache the other day and we popped this into the microwave for minute and a half. His headache came on suddenly and he prefers heat when he has a headache. He wore it for about 15-20 minutes and said he felt a lot better and was able to continue working on a home project. He also liked having the heat off his eyes.We have a new winner for our heat hat!
