The Experience Neat Whiskey Glass, Set of 2

WARNING !!! Even though this item is described AND pictured as "The Experience" glass, the product being shipped is the standard "Ultimate Spirits" glass. Major Bait & Switch scam !!!NEAT sells 3 different products. The standard, "The Ultimate Spirits Glass", is regular glass. "The Experience" is mouth-blown crystal. "The Artisan" is European crystal. All are the same shape, just made from different material. This item is advertised as the higher end "The Experience", but that is not what you will get.Recommend purchasing elsewhere.

I'll preface this review by saying I am a complete newbie to fine spirits. While in Jamaica a few weeks ago I purchased a couple bottles of premium sipping rum and I couldn't wait to get home for a taste. I've always been curious about what all the rave is about with top-shelf spirits and now I know.My first taste was rather rude as I used a red wine glass that funneled all the strong fumes through my nose and throat. I eventually "choked" it down after diluting the liquid with some water but wasn't the least bit enthused by the experience. I was able to taste it's flavor after diluting, but I knew I was missing something. I came to work the next day and relayed my experience to a friend who promptly asked about the glass I used. He told me to do some research, that the sipping container makes a huge difference. So I set off to do some reading and eventually chose this product based on all the positive reviews. It came last night, so of course I had to give it a shot (no pun intended... well, maybe just a little). I followed the sipping instructions, gave it a gentle swirl, raised it to my lips and was greeted with a pleasing aroma. The first drop on my tongue opened all my taste receptors as the warmth spread through my mouth.What a difference! Everything was exactly the same as the first tasting except for the container. I'm now ecstatic with both purchases - the spirits and my new Neat Whiskey Glass.

Purchased the set of 2 hand-blown Neat "EXPERIENCE" glasses but received the cheaper alternative, which are the Neat "ULTIMATE" spirits glasses. Disappointed to say the least. 2-pack of product should be updated with accurate info as well as pricing. If you're looking for the glasses pictured you might as well order from the manufacturers website to ensure you're receiving the highest quality product.

Group of 4 of us tried these vs. Glencairn style and the Glencairn won hands down. You get a nice, decent quaff with these but no dimensionality. With the Glencairn style you can play a bit with angles and get so much more depth and variety.

These are really perfect for scotch tasting. The base is great for warming the liquid and the flared opening makes nosing effortless. I've even used them for wines and beers when sampling different things brought to a dinner party.
