Comes with a UV copy...
We've got each season on blu-ray and I'd been waiting for prices to drop for S3 and the Xmas 2012 Special before adding them.Prices have fluctuated recently as S4 is advertised but I've now taken the plunge and got them.If you like DA - and we do (even to the extent of visiting Highclere) - you'll know what happens and simply want the discs for your collection. I'm not therefore going to add a review in that sense but just wanted to say that although the Amazon listing and pic don't say so, the special comes with an Ultraviolet copy, redeemable via a code. We use UV's (when provided) for offline viewing on our Nexus tablet.Strangely, S3 itself doesn't have a UV code. Maybe they sold the rights with Journey to the Highlands and future seasons/specials will have UV. Hope so, as it adds to the viewing options.

Excellent
Downton Abbey is one of my favourite TV series, the characters are so beleivable and the cast are among our very best acting tallent, well directed, well acted and deffinetly well written. The only thing I would say about "Journey to the Highlands" is that it did seem to lack the familiarity of Downton itself, being set in the Highlands as it were. However what it lacked in familiar surroundings it certainly made up for in spectacular Highland scenery and landscapes, a very nice addition to my permanent blu-ray collection.

Amazing
The latest instalment of the Downton Abbey Christmas special does not disappoint. Full of the usually quips, drama and plot twits that fans have grown to love from the series, this special is one of my favourite, apart from the ending (fans will know what I mean). Arrived swiftly and being a Blu-ray version just adds to the costume detail and scenery for that full emersion effect.

AMAZING
Absolutely loved the DVD - cant wait for a new series to be made.It is hard for me to give a review on other articles purchased by me as they were all gifts for family in UK so I haven't actually seen the items yet - I am going to UK in May this year so maybe could give a review at a later date.

This is mandatory to complete the set (so far)
Having read a number of reviews that expressed disappointment, I pondered whether I should buy this or not. Knowing this would be the bridge leading into the next series, I went ahead anyway and I am pleased I did. A fine cast and excellent settings more than made up for any perceived shortfalls or weaknesses in the storyline. This special never even came close to descending into the depths of soap opera and its dramatic end has to be seen for the sake of continuity as a lead in to S4. I have no regrets about buying this special and I think the majority of Downton fans will feel the same.Quality British drama at its best.

Downton Abbey Cristmas 2012
Having watched all Downton Abbey series, I find it hard to believe the writer had any idea what he was writing when he came up with that load of twaddle that was dished up to ardent Abbey fans on Christmas Day. It was a disjointed mess of bad taste, poor story line, morbid gloom and generally lacked all the good qualities we have all come to expect. Unless the old magic can be found, it should be killed off now along with Matthew R.I.P

Another Hit
This was a great ending to the season. Although it was not a great ending to the season. Not a Christmas special as the last one was but an interesting way to introduce new characters who we have heard of during past seasons. Although I do ask... Why does it have to end this way!!Looking forward to season 4

Could this be the final chapter?
I enjoyed this as much as the other DVD's in the series. The ending was a surprise and a little disturbing, but I suppose when an actor is offered Broadway - it's hard to refuse. The cast are all excellent and Dame Maggie Smith, just keeps wowing me with her delivery and those "looks".
