Bought this for my wife. She is a big fan. She read it in just a couple of days. She said she loved the honesty. It brought her similarities to her own life and really enjoyed it.

I've been a fan of Melissa's for years, and I had no idea of all the trauma she's experienced. Makes total sense now - knowing this - that she's such an exceptional writer and empathetic performer. I just adore what she's given to the world musically and loved learning more about her life. Even the way she presents the trauma is uplifting in many ways and encouraging to all of us trying to get through life. Highly recommend for all fans of Melissa and even those who are learning to process their trauma. A great read.

So brave and honest. So real. I felt so many parallels to Melissa’s journey. From religion to coming out and accepting less because of the stigma. I lost my best friend in the world to a fentanyl overdose and it was just such a reminder that we are meant to move forward in love with love. Thank you Melissa for sharing so much of yourself. Gah! Need a tissue. Peace and love.

I really like Melissa Etheridge and I already had her first book which has pics throughout so I was extremely disappointed that this one doesn’t have any pics at all. Otherwise a good read!!!!

I flew through this book, granted it is not that long. I have considered Ms. Etheridge an icon since 1990s and have never looked back. I had no idea what her childhood was like-and I will not spoil the moment for anyone contemplating the book. I will simply say that it is an easy, casual read filled with joy and deep sadness. You truly don’t know artists’ intention when writing lyrics but with all Melissa shares, her music demands a restart! Many thoughts and wishes for such a beautiful woman.

Melissa spoke brutally honest about her past and the death of her son. It was a hard read at times just due to the content. But if you want to know the artist or have an understanding of how she creates her songs this is the book. Melissa bared her soul to the reader

I have been a fan for many years, loving her music. Her strength shows in her books. She is such a remarkable woman. Many blessings to her and her family. She has helped so many people, myself included.

Melissa Etheridge has written a wonderful book. If you are a fan it is a must read.

A gifted lady shares truth and it is raw truth down to earth showing us that life is imperfect for even the most accomplished of souls among us there are no exceptions. Her strength is unbroken in spite of all the ills of this world like a beacon she shines through where only positivity and love has a place.

A good follow up to her first book. Such an underrated artist and why she's not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me. Hopefully this book and her Broadway show will bring her to the forefront where she belongs. Definitely would recommend to anyone whether a fan or not.
