I’m in my mid 50’s. About 7 months ago I got shingles on my back right scalp. Maybe 4 months ago I realized my hair was thinning, and soon noticed a bald spot 1”-2” wide forming near but off to the right on the cap of my head, where my shingles was the worst and where I still have nerve damage. Now I’m in week 10 and and it is becoming difficult to see my scalp through the hair. I’ve read where increase in fullness can continue to improve for up to a year, but for me, 3 months in and it has already restored my hair as much as I had hoped for. I had my doubts for some time, but now I’m sold on Rogaine.

Based on my experience, it took around 6 weeks to observe visible changes and hair growth after using the product regularly. It's recommended to take before and after pictures to track progress. The product arrived sealed and proved to be effective, despite being $15 cheaper than other sellers. The recommended usage is 1 ml twice a day, but using it once a day can also produce results, albeit at a slower rate. Overall, the product is worth the hype and is a more affordable option compared to hair graft.

I started with the womens Rogaine and eventually went to men's, which is stronger. More side effects with the men's, but had to use because of my female pattern baldness. My hair is still thin on top, but I am not bald, which is what would happen without the Rogaine. It works.

This caused scalp irritation (itching and redness) and skin irritation on my ears and neck even though I applied it on my balding spot only. Tried to reduce the application to just once a day but still caused irritation. Endured one bottle but had to stop.

The problem is that if you stop using it, the hair that you had already managed to get out falls out.
