Good quality colors for landscapes, seascapes
A set of cool greens, blues, violets and greys suitable for landscape and seascape. Some granulate more than others but they will granulate best on rougher cotton watercolor paper. The colors work up well, wetting easily in the poured pans. The color names are on the labels in both Russian and English; I marked the pans with a Sharpie (but they are numbered.)There are also 12 other warm colors (Earth tones) If you visit the White Nights site, you can see a color chart and a list of the pigments used. Tube versions of these colors are also available. The reds and brighter greens, browns and purples are available in a different 12 color set.As you'd expect, a lot of the colors are phthalo blue or green mixed with black. The lightfastness looks fairly good. The ones in this set are all three star (high lightfastness.)Worldwide, these watercolors have a good reputation for value and performance; of the regular watercolor line 62 of 82 colors are single pigment, which shows a dedication to manufacturing professional color.

Gorgeous!
Beautiful colors and great granulation. I love playing with them. Love to blend them too.

Beautiful granulating watercolors
These paints can produce surprising, crazy deep colors to very delicate washes. Beautiful, granulating watercolor palette. Blues, violets, greens, and a sort of reddish tone.

Cool colors
So far, I find these colors well pigmented and quite nice. I have not done a painting in them but did do the swatches. The colors are so moody and just about perfect for evening paintings.Nice compact little palate and easy to set up and use. Put your paints in the freezer before you open them for the first time. Especially if you live in a hot area like I do. They tend to stick to the wrappers without a quick 60 minutes in the freezer before opening.I’m a Daniel Smith girl and these seem to have some of the same qualities that I like. Can’t wait to paint with them tomorrow!!

Pretty, lots of grays though
There was paper stuck to the tops of two of the pans. They were probably still damp when they were wrapped? I sprayed them with water and let them set a minute. Then it was easy to carefully rub the the films of paper off with a brush.

Beautiful....
I love this set. It's so pretty and have been using these for backgrounds mostly so far but you could use them for anything. They are a big size for a great price and with the large pan you can use your bigger brushes alot easier.. Very good quality easy to wet, mix, blend and use. Definitely what you would expect from White Nights/Nevskaya Palitra as a great brand. If you're on the fence about these I say go for it because they are alot of fun.

Stunning Granulating Colors
White Night paints are always great quality. They re-wet immediately and are very saturated, so a little goes a long way. These granulating colors are so fun to watch the undertones appear. A couple colors are such a surprise that I thought they were mis-labeled, like Violet Mist appears green in the pan, but as soon it touches paper, you see the violet. One color, Aquamarine Mist, is so beautiful and will work wonderfully for tropical oceans. I already bought a tube so that I get it before it disappears. These sets tend to be released, then get discontinued. Now I’m looking at the other sets to purchase. I’m afraid I’ve slipped down the rabbit hole!🤭

Curious colors
The media could not be loaded. Very complicated & interesting colors, great value watercolor paints. On the last photo there are swatches of the granulation White Nights compared to pricy Schmincke ‘best of granulation set’. As you see White Nights granulation effect is less extreme as it is in Schmincke, but the colors are quite vivid and interesting enough to add them to your collection. ‘Blue shadows’ and “Cobalt mist” look kinda similar though, but other than that it’s a very nice set with beautiful cool colors. My favorite colors are ‘Aquamarine mist’, ‘Dark blue’, and ‘Hematite mist’.‘Lilac mist’ and ‘Aquamarine mist’ are the most vivid colors of all set.Colors ‘Gray-rose mist’ and ‘Violet mist’ remind me Daniel Smith’s ‘Moon glow’ and Schmincke’s ‘Deep sea violet’ and ‘tundra Violet’.
