Great upgrade for round laces
Pictured are my Red Wing Iron Ranger 8086 with waxed and braided round laces (not from RW) and these flat waxed laces. Appearances are relative so you be the judge of what looks better.I personally wanted to change the standard appearance and distribute the lace pressure a little more eventually across the top of the tongue. It does feel softer and gentler on the top of my foot. I also assume these flat laces wear the tongue a little less than the coarse round braided ones. Lastly, the increased length of the 55" vs the original 48", leaves more room in the bow.

Look great. Alittle tough with Hook eyelets
These look great, just what I was hoping for. Quality is good. No complaints. Only issue for me is my boots have two hook eyelets at the top and these flat laces are alittle harder to "Secure" when tying. Not impossible though. They just tend to slip out during the tying process for me.

Laces Broke After 3 Months
I purchased a pair of these laces for my Thursday boots. The original laces that came with them lasted quite a while. I did some research and these replacement laces seemed like a great option. They seemed great when they arrived and I was very happy the first 3 months until one of them broke. I am very gentle with my boots and laces so this is unacceptable. I am going to give these one more try. I just purchased another pair. I will update this review once I see how the new pair works out.

Wax gonna wax
These are very attractive shoe laces. The brown isn't brown as much as it is not-quite-black-but-looks-brown-if-its-near-something-brown-I-guess, but it's a nice color. Or I got black by mistake. Who knows.I must warn my fellow consumers that these shoe laces do fail miserably at one very specific thing; being tied. They last about, 15 minutes before they come undone, give or take. This is with very, VERY light walking, literally around the house, on a lazy sunday. This is with me cranking down on those bad boys so hard that the intro to Dexter looks like a baby. Hopefully they will get better with age, which shouldn't take much time in the scheme of things, considering they have to get tied and retied somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 times a day.
