Worth the Read
This is the book mothers have been needing. Alli Worthington puts into words those inmost thoughts we fear belong solely to us and that can so often hold us back—that as a mother, we’re not enough, we’re not trying hard enough, we’re doing it wrong, and our children will reap the consequences. But Alli provides a fresh, genuine way of thinking about motherhood and ourselves. Being a great mother doesn’t depend on having the perfect plan or following the right steps every time. Instead, she helps us understand it’s all about a healthier mindset—leading to taking care of ourselves first while relying on God to handle the long-term plan for our children. If taking care of yourself first sounds selfish, it’s not. Just the opposite! It’s what allows us to be the mothers our children need most, and throughout the book she unfolds practical, intentional ways we can learn to love ourselves well so that we can love others best. I have come to know Alli through her podcast and trust completely her heart for God and intention for this book to transform mothers—applying not only her own insights but also the wisdom gained from research, trusted experts, and life lessons of her own and her friends. It’s definitely worth the read.

Every mom of littles needs to read this book
I've loved Alli's writing and podcast for years and knew I wanted to read this book when it came out, but I had no idea just how much I would need it NOW. I have teenagers and am just stepping into my 40's. The way I parented when my kids were younger was not how I parent them now and I am so grateful for that. I wish desperately that this book had been available to me when my kids were younger though. I wish I could have learned earlier that the generational trauma that was a part of my family impacted my motherhood journey and how I saw myself as a woman, not just as a parent. If I could go back, I would give myself this book when my kids were younger and tell myself just how important it is to take care of myself, my WHOLE self, earlier so that I could be a better mom, wife, and friend. If you don't follow Alli and don't know her "voice", please go listen to her podcast as well. You will quickly see how real she is and how much she cares about people. There are some parts to the start of the book that you may go "I've heard this before"...keep reading. One of my favorite parts of her book comes directly from her coaching mindset. She gives a review/overview of the big topics at the end of each chapter, and also gives you questions to work through. These are great by yourself but will work amazing for a group study. Every moms group should do this book!!! I am on the book launch team but purchased my own copy for review. All opinions are my own and from my personal experiences. Thanks for writing such an amazing tookkit for motherhood Alii!!!

An Invitation to Doing Things Differently
I have long since been a fan of Alli's. Not only have I gotten to work with her professionally as a client but I have felt connected to her through the words of her books and podcasts. When I heard she was coming out with a book on mothering, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. But I knew deep down, it would be insightful, researched and full of heart. I can say without a doubt that this is all true. I jokingly told Alli that I wasn't sure I wanted to read it (kidding of course) because I knew as a now grandma (Gaga as a few of the eight now call me), it was going to drudge up some painful memories of parenting as a younger me. While I was not wrong about this, I am grateful. I am grateful that God has allowed me to heal through Alli's words. And I am grateful that His kindness is immense in bringing some closure to false narratives that I believed as a young mom. Knowing that I want my own daughters to experience the freedom that will come as moms let these words wash over their hearts, I have purchased copies for all my daughters and my daughter-in-law. This done in hopes that they will not wait until they're grandmas themselves to see the treasure of motherhood and to know that while it is the hardest job they'll ever do, it is also the most rewarding. Thank you, Alli for your heart, your insight, your dedication to improving the lives of mommas everywhere and your fierce devotion to the calling of women in motherhood!

There is a lot of Christian/biblical reference
As someone who is not Christian, I was not prepared for the amount of references to biblical passages and relationship of motherhood to God. This by no means negates the important and helpful topics and advice this book offers (it is easily separated out from the religious perspective), but I felt others looking to read this book may want to know that there is a strong Christian perspective offered. At times for me it would pull me out of the advice being offered because I was trying to find ways to rephrase statements in a way that resonated more with me and my experience of spirituality.

Almost Sixty and Still Learning About Motherhood
In all honesty, I bought this book for a new mom at work before I even read it. I am a longtime reader and listener of Alli’s. I new I could trust her book to be everything she said it would be. Now I have finished the book for myself and even though my children are grown-I didn’t know how much mom guilt I was still carrying until Alli reviewed the myths of modern motherhood. This may sound trite, but my step feels lighter and even though I have an awesome relationship with my adult “babies,” I want to talk to them about my missteps as a parent instead of being embarrassed about incidentals where I didn’t handle things well. Thank you Alli for the time, energy and research you put into Remaining You While Raising Them. It’s a game changer🥰
