MILWARDS 2232508 Crochet Hook Set: Rose Gold: Set of 8, Assorted

first time crocheting, been using them for amigurumi and they've been great! and they're rose gold!

These crochet hooks are just brilliant. I've only just learnt to crochet and have a set of wooden hooks, which are great, but I'm making something on the smallest hook with cotton yarn and I just thought it may snap, so I ordered these and I'm so glad. Really comfortable to use, the hook does not get caught in the strands of the yarn as it is fractionally shorter than the wooden ones, no snags as other metal hooks have on their reviews as Milward have been making knitting needles since forever, so they are properly produced and for less than £3 for 8 hooks, fabulous value.

i wanted to buy a set like this with 0.5mm between each hook size so i could experiment with the sizes for my project. sadly these hooks aren’t my favourite as the yarn doesn’t glide over them easily (not like it does with pony hooks). excellent as a starter kit to see which sizes work best & find out which sizes to invest in

Great hooks, smooth and easy to use

I have been doing crochet for most of my 72 years, so seeing and using different pins is no problem to me, but I did have my favourites but sadly they are no longer made any more. So I came on here, whesaw Milward, I was so pleased as they were one of the very best in crochet hooks . Even better their was no extra bits on the hooks, but most of all the hook, still has some length to it, plus the disc is now in still in the hook but sadly it's halfway down the hook. Not nearer the the hook side. The other change to these hooks was the strength of the pin, some of these new pins are made of soft metal and I can not bring myself to use them I have tried them like the ones with the rubber around the pin, for goodness sake do away with the rubber, as it will get in the way of many patterns, old as well as new, I felt that it was lovely to discover an old name is still in the making of great hooks

Milward have always made good quality products, however, these really didn't work for me. The rose gold colour is lovely, I found the crochet hooks themselves to be very lightweight, and being new to crochet, I don't know whether that's a good or a bad thing! I did however buy another set of 'traditional metal' crochet hooks, which I prefer, and so at the moment I'm using those.

Very reasonably priced, smooth and easy to use, and a pretty colour too. Nothing to dislike, unless you prefer a fatter handle to grip. I don’t and these are perfect for me.
