Great little radio
This is a battery-powered FM radio, which can also be paired by bluetooth with your phone to act as a speaker. A micro SD slot also plays whatever sound files are on it. I have only used it as a radio and it's fine. The sound quality is clear. I haven't saved the radio station I listen to all the time but it stays 'fixed' to that one every time I turn it on and off. It is possible to save several stations. The little screen does not show what programme is on like a DAB radio would but that's fine for me. Comes with a longish rubbery strap that might suit someone who wants to hang it off a belt or something, I just wrap it around the radio itself (it give more grip to it, which isn't a bad thing). The battery is lithium-ion and rechargeable. A charge seems to be quick (an hour or so) and with the radio on a lot (6+ hours per day) needs recharging maybe every two days. My only quibble is that when the radio is plugged in via cable for recharging, the volume is LOUD LOUD LOUD, so it cannot be on at the same time as it is being recharged ... EDIT this only seems to happen with data cables rather than a cheap non-data charging cable. I took the battery out and plugged it in to see what would happen - again super loud volume.I still love this radio several years on. Advantages: neat size, can be recharged using a phone cable either connected to a USB wall plug or into a computer, good sound quality. Disadvantage: cannot recharge the battery while it's turned on due to the super loud volume but this can be fixed by using a non-data charging cable if you need this.PS This also has AUX in socket and headphone socket.

Excellent build quality, good sound and features
BUILD QUALITY is excellent all round. It's had daily use in the last two years and still looks good. The on/off and volume control is a rotating knob. Really great. The stretchy strap is handy.RADIO is FM only. There are ten presents. You'll need to read the manual to program them as it's not intuitive. Otherwise you can scan or type the frequency you require directly. For better reception plug in the USB cable as this functions as an aerial.SPEAKER plays radio or MicroSD or if connected to your computer/laptop via USB will function as a speaker for it. I found this out by accident! The bluetooth functionality refers to the speaker, not from the unit. The speaker has a pleasant sound and there's plenty of volume.MICROSD slot. This makes the unit really useful. You need to buy a MicroSD card. Available cheaply in most supermarkets or take one out of your old phone. To load songs onto the card, connect to a computer via the USB cable and drag and drop to its folder. Great for audio books etc. It copes well with whatever folders and ignores any non mp3 files on the card.BATTERY is charged via USB as you would a mobile phone. The battery life is excellent... we're talking days!HEADPHONE socket which you can also use to send output to the aux of another device. Be aware that if using earphones with an integral microphone you may have to look at how far in you push the jack it, as it may play the speaker and the earphones at the same time and you'll wonder why you're getting funny looks on the train.AUX input enable something else to be played through the speaker, i.e. from the headphone socket of something else. After two years of daily use, I have to declare myself a big fan and I suspect there are many like me. If Avantree bring out an improved version, I'd want to see a simpler radio preset system, a sleep timer (e.g. auto off after 60 minutes), and that's about it.

Great portable radio and MP3 player
This is a great little MP3 player and radio. Battery life lasts all day and takes about an hour to charge.Great sound from a small player. My only gotcha is the tuning on the radio. Yes it does auto-tune and then stores everything it finds sequentially, so radio 1 isn't on 1, radio 2 isn't on 2 etc. The manual tuning node allows you to type in your station frequency and then it stores it in 1, the next frequency typed in goes in 2 etc. It would be nice to be able store stations in which preset I wanted. Not the end of the world when I only listen to 2 radio stations thoCharges via USB, so can charge via portable battery charges

I'm SO PLEASED with this Radio/SD Player
I treated myself to an early Christmas gift and I am happy with my purchase.I use a Mobility Scooter, and love listening to my music as I cruise along. I have had difficulty finding a suitable player that, not only sounds good, but has a traditional volume knob. With painful, swollen hands, and fingertips, it's not easy to turn up the volume, on modern units, without skipping the track I was listening to. Very frustrating when cruising along! This little beauty is fabulous and the sound quality is perfect. Warm, not tinny!I've not tested the radio (prefer my own music compilations), but I'm sure it will be fine because the quality of this unit feels good too. Not cheap plastic!Rechargeable battery, via USB, is a plus because my scooter has a USB charge port.An addional touch is the 2yr warranty (scan bar code) and, included in the package is a lovely, personalised note, with contact support details if required. Nice touch! Now that my music won't sound like it's coming from a speaker in a tin can, I'm looking forward to inserting my Xmas MicroSD Card, and tootling off out with my dog.I might even put some tinsel on my scooter this yearšMerry Christmas everyone.
