The Brother Belt Unit was a breeze to replace and took less than ten minutes. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that you read the instructions. There are a series of steps that MUST be followed in order to make sure that the printer itself is aware of the replacement. This is done by entering certain codes and dates into the printer's "memory". When you get the message from your printer to "replace the belt unit" it is because the printer has kept count of the number of copies or print outs that have gone through it. After the message has been sent, there is a limited number of copies or print outs left before the belt unit ceases to function, shutting the printer down completely until the new belt unit is replaced.
