100 8" Premium Glow Stick Bracelets (10 Color Mixed Assortment)

We bought this identical product two years ago to give out on Halloween instead of candy, and it was a rousing success! The kids loved choosing their favorite colors, the parents liked the fact that it was not candy, and there was the factor of added safety for the kids. All this for less than the cost of "fun size" candy. We overbought the first time, and left the unopened container in a dark closet until the following October, when we checked to make sure they still worked, and they did. In all there were maybe 4 duds out of 300 glow bracelets; the colors were nice and bright, and most of them were still glowing the second night without being stored in the fridge.Fast forward to this year's Halloween- I looked through my Amazon account history to make sure I ordered the same item from the same manufacturer, and placed a new order. What a difference two years makes, and not in a good way. This year's batch were nothing even close to the quality we had experienced with the last order; none of the bracelets were completely full, only the green ones had much glow at all, and even the green ones faded to about half their initial brightness within 15 minutes or so! What a disappointment! Fortunately, we only ordered one pack of 100 this year, because that will be our final order from US Glow Laboratories. All the bracelets had a fair amount of air space in them, and many of them leaked and/or failed to glow even a little bit. Don't waste your money on this manufacturer's bracelets- spend slightly more and get good ones from someone else.

I ordered these, and received them about 2 weeks before Halloween. We have been giving out glow items for years, and typically, we activate the glow sticks to make sure they work, attach a connector, then give them to the trick-or-treater.This year, we activated them, activated more of them, then sorted through to find the ones that actually worked, attached connectors to those, and gave them out. We had a 50% fail rate. Those that failed were those which either didn't activate much at all (we carefully broke the inner glass and shook the sticks thoroughly) or that activated, then died within 20 minutes. We expected at least a couple hours' worth of glow, and half the sticks didn't even achieve half an hour.We had 900 glow bracelets, and were lucky to have enough to have bracelets for everyone.That said, the bracelets we received were NOT US Glow bracelets. We did have some US Glow bracelets left over from Burning Man, and they were much much better.Next year, we'll either choose a different vendor, or choose a different type of thing to give out. We definitely will not order these again. With the fail rate, they're just too expensive. It's also very embarrassing to have to ask the children to wait while we sort through trying to find a bracelet that works.

I re-learned the lesson this year (throughout the Christmas season) that a good gift isn't necessarily a big or expensive one, and these glow sticks are a shining example of that (pun intended).The price seems very fair to me at 100 for $11.99, and they come with a ton of connectors so that you can get creative.In fact, I gave this product 5 stars, but it just occurred to me that the creators of these things might make it a 6-star product by making more connectors in new shapes and perhaps even including more than one set of the connectors used to make the glasses and the orbs. They were a big hit!Of course that also meant blips of jealousy amongst them, so I think it would be great, even as a separate expansion kit, to include more options in that area. Still though, a great product overall.My 5 little nieces played with these things for hours, so I'd say that's an awesome win and a great buy.I should also mention that one of the sticks broke open when I snapped the thing to make it glow. It was no big deal; I just laughed at my glowing fingers, threw it away, and washed my hands. I guess I would just caution not to get overly enthusiastic about snapping them, but even if you do, I'd say 99 out of 100 is a pretty good record.

These glow sticks are a pretty good deal for 100 and come in pretty nice packaging. Since the company is in San Luis Obispo I guess I'm a little partial since I went to college there. The color range according to the description is a 10 color mixed assortment which means you get a mix of solid colors and some combo colored ones as well but most of them are the solid variety. Some of these will be brighter depending on the color, and I would say after an hour or so you will definitely notice the reduced output of the glow. This is probably the case with other glow sticks as well. For the price and packaging I recommend it and I personally would probably buy from this company again, because it is a good product and I want to support SLO!!

I bought these for my camp to use this past year at Burning Man. They worked great! Of all of them I think we maybe had about 3 duds (they glowed faintly but not enough to be fun); considering the price I feel like that was a very acceptable number.We mostly used the necklace/bracelet connectors and they worked great. The glasses connectors worked well enough as long as you weren't moving around a ton -as in, they were fine for walking around or when we were riding our bikes but on the dance floor they didn't stay together as well as the necklace/bracelet connectors did. We didn't make the ball so I don't know how those connectors were.I used these along with some finger lights to illuminate my bike after my El wire stopped working. They were nice and bright and no one ran into me! We also used them to illuminate our camp so we could find our way home!For the price I don't think you can go wrong ordering these. :o)
