It will take YEARS to see if it works.
I used this on my new deck frame. It went on well, stuck well, and the tape seems well made (smooth and consistent). Other than that it will take years to know if the expense and effort applying "pays off". Directionally is seems like the right thing to do......keep the framing from long-term exposure to water, and therefore rot and decay.

As Expected
Worked as expected. Time will tell the quality and how well it holds up / seals the fasteners.

Nice, could be a bit wider
I recognize the industry standard for butyl tape for decking is 2" wide, as this is enough to wrap around the top of your deck joist, and come down about 3/16" - 1/4", accounting for the curve of the top edges of the board. With such little forgiveness, the process takes a lot longer, as you need to be more precise in your application, just to avoid having to pull the tape back up after you apply it, just to straighten it out. That's my rant, now for the product review.I bench-tested this tape using a piece of scrap wood to see how well the tape adheres, wraps around the screw, and ease of application. This tape tested very well, and I would be happy to use it when my deck is built (sometime next spring). For starters, the tape cuts pretty easily, and the plastic adhesive covering pulled back without much fuss. I drove a screw into the taped wood, deliberately driving the screwhead all the way to the surface of the tape, just to see how well it withstood the torquing caused by the screw. I realize this is not a true representation of what the tape will be up against, as the screwheads would not make it to the tape in a typical application. Still, I wanted to test the tape's ability to handle the twisting of the screw. With that, the tape handled the screwhead just fine. The tape wrapped around the shaft of the screw as it should, which helps to prevent water from getting in the screw hole. As I drew the screw out of the hole the tape held fast to the surface of the wood. So far, my testing leads me to recommend this tape. Obviously, how it holds up to the elements is another story, and I'm not able to offer an informed opinion. After all that, I do recommend this decking butyl tape and thank you for reading my review.

Peel away backing tears easily
The product seems fine and functions just as the other brands of joist tape I purchased. It adheres well and does the job. Long term TBD.The backing film (the part you pull away to stick the tape down) is thin and tears easily. As you pull the role of tape along and pull the backing off, it has a tendency to tear away at an angle. This results in the edges of the backing staying on the tape. You must stop work, pull up whatever middle section you have pushed down and then remove the backing that is tearing away. I would have thought this was "normal" but another brand I purchased at the same time and used at the same time had a much thicker/studier cellophane type backing that never once tore free while rolling out the 20' joists. If you need 6" tape and this brand is the cheapest, go ahead and get it. Be mindful of the backing while installing.

Valuable protection for your deck support.
I’ve been remodeling a home and I am building a small patio leading out to the back yard. While I try to paint every surface and use pressure treated wood where needed, there are always areas that seem to be prone to water penetration. This joist tape peels easily, cuts with a scissor or razor, and adheres nicely. In the short term, I can see it deflecting water very well. Time will tell after some freeze/thaw cycles and exposure to UV if the integrity of the tape is affected. Just make sure you have a clean, dry surface when you put it down. With composite planks on top, pressure treated lumber below, and this in the middle, your patio or deck will outlive you.

Good protection
I received a single roll of 2” wide x 50’ long Felizshop Butyl Deck Joist Tape for review purposes. A single roll is not enough to do an entire deck, but I only needed about half for the extra bracing I’ve installed. The tape it wide enough to overlap the width of nominal 2 by X lumber. The tape is sticky and adheres well at early summer temps. Even if the overlap comes unstuck at winter temps, it will act as a mini-drip edge keeping the top of the joists dry.As other reviewers have mentioned, the backing tape is tricky to remove without tearing. Otherwise, it’s really good joist tape.
