Works well but needs better users manual
The drain auger worked really well, and I was able to get out a clog in my shower drain/pipes that I hadn't been able to get out with other products. It was easy to use, once I figured out how to use it. My only issue with the product was the users manual, which didn't really explain how to use the auger and was not translated well into English, making it hard to understand. It refered to figure 1 and figure 2, when there was no figure 1 or 2.

Did not work at all
Was very different from the product picture. Directions very unclear. I was not able to advance the snake manually or with my cordless drill. Worthless.

Works for the DIYer
The VEVOR Drain Auger 25Ft works at unclogging clogged pipes, such as sink drains and toilets. The ability to use a drill to turn the cable in addition to manually turning it is a positive feature of this unit. The included gloves are a nice inclusion but may not be suitable for larger hands. The one downside of this unit is that there is no "squeegee" around the cable as it enters the housing, so a lot of dirty water can contaminate the inside of the housing. So, when removing the auger from the drain, it is a good idea to wrap a towel around the cable as you retract it. And if you're cleaning a clog in a toilet, you definitely want to manually pull the cable out of the drain without spooling it into the housing until you've had the opportunity to clean the cable. Only after it has been cleaned should you spool it back into the housing. An alternative would be to flush the toilet 3-4 times after the it has been unclogged to allow fresh, clean water to clean the cable before retracting it.

Drain snake.
It did exactly what they said it would do. It was perfect. Exactly the right length to get the job done. And it operates very easily. It retract itself perfectly.

Quality product that works well
I bought this to clean out the lint buildup in a clothes dryer exhaust line. I was impressed with the quality of the auger. It is made out of high quality materials that appear to be long lasting and substantial. It is very solid with no flimsiness in any part. It worked great using a drill motor. The 1/4" shaft to attach the drill motor has several flats on it so the drill motor check tightens firmly. I had no trouble with the chuck coming loose. While my intended use was not what this tool is typically used for, it did a good job of cleaning the lint off the walls of a soft sided 4" duct. I duct taped a flap of duct tape with a stiff wire embedded in it to provide a brush/wiper type end to the auger cable. I ran the auger at fairly low speed to clean about 15' of duct before it hit a 90 degree turn that it couldn't get past. The feed mechanism worked perfectly for both feeding the cable into the duct as well as removing the cable and having it store back in the black plastic housing. I have little doubt it will work just as well if/when I use it on a drain or toilet.

3 star price - 5 star performance
I have used many of these devices in the past and this is the best constructed & featured unit that I have encountered. The 3 star rating was due to price only. Excellent for home use!! I have even used it to unclog my Miele vacuum cleaner hose.
