In this heat wave, the cat discovered this mat. She lays on it most of the afternoon.Haven’t had to clean it yet, and as I don’t lay on it I couldn’t say If it is soft…cat doesn’t seem to care.

It is comfortable. It is not as cool as I thought it would be but my cat likes to lay on it.

These cooling pads work great. Took few days for dogs to start using them. Now they lay on the pads all time. Pads automatically feels cool after animal is of off pad for 15 to 30 mins. Highly recommend for furry friends comfort in hot weather.

I previously tried The Green Pet and the Chillz options. This is my favorite of the three, but it still didn’t work for my dog.I have a 12 pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who gets warm very easily. I’ve been trying to find the perfect cooling mat to help her cool down quickly after walks or outdoor play in the summertime. Unfortunately, the previous two that I tried didn’t work out. The Green Pet mat comes with a nice bias tape trim around the edges of the mat to make it look better. This is great, but my dog kept trying to eat it. The Chillz mat arrived covered in black mold immediately out of the packaging. Gross. This mat arrived clean and ready to be used, but when I laid it out, my dog was interested and did lay on it, but only long enough to realize she liked the texture and tried to chomp it. It’s important to note, my dog is not a super chewer or particularly inclined to chewing on bedding or blankets. This behavior is abnormal for her and I can only assume it’s due to the texture or the cooling.After taking it away from my dog, my cat tested it out and seemed to really enjoy it (no biting from him). However, after an hour when I went to go feel the mat, it was already plenty warm from his body heat. The claims of “up to three hours” of cooling seem absurd.Overall, I’m not sure if I would recommend this mat. It works for a little while, but not as long as I had hoped. Additionally, if you have a chewer for a dog, they’ll likely be very interested in this and could potentially make themselves sick.

This actually has worked well. It is a nice thickness of gel and is cushiony. It is two pieces with a center seam. It is a decent size.The material has almost a vinyl-type feel to it. Very easy to clean and wipe off. However my cats don't want to sit on that material. I had to lay a thin blanket over it because they had zero interest to sit on it. I'm guessing it was the feel of it. I tried it blank first since they lay out on tables or the floor to cool down but they wouldn't use it until I covered it. This may just be my cats.The cooling effect does work well. The only reason I took away a star was because of the material. Although it does make sense that it is that material but it felt more like something to go in a cooler than to give to my cats. Still it does work to cool and is a gel.

The mat seems to work well and does a good job of staying cool. I like that it doesn't require refrigeration. However, my cat has zero interest in the mat. I've even tried putting treats and toys on the mat, but he still won't sit on the mat. I think my cat doesn't like the feeling of the gel. If my cat suddenly decides to use it one day, I will make sure to update this review.

We tried to get the dogs to lay on this but they just won't. It is thin so maybe too thin to be comfortable, but we tried in on the couch, in their beds and on the floor. One decided to chew it up a little and it was not a difficult feat for him.
