They are strong and great quality.

I use these for my small jewelry business andI love them. The color is great, matches other gold-plated findings. Lots of people in reviews think these are “too short” they aren’t. They are 18 inch chains, which hits just below the collar bone. If you are looking for long, chest/belly button length chains sure these may seem short, but if you know what length 18 inches is then these will satisfy. They are also not “too thin” again, if you know what 1.5 mm means then these will be exactly what you want. They are for me they are delicate looking and beautiful. My customers like them, and they do not tarnish like brass. The ones I’ve kept for almost a year have not changed color so I do believe they are truly gold plated. Price point is great. Individually bagged makes for easy separation and use.

Just as the headline says, these feel a little short, but I’m sure if I measured them they would prove to be exactly what the title says they are. They’re very thin and delicate, but again, that was to be expected. It’s a big foil pouch filled with 30 and some odd little plastic baggies, each with a chain in there. The whole pouch fits in the palm of your hand. It’s a great price for such a large number of chains in my opinion. The only reason I docked it a point is because 18” seems like a possibly too short length for them to be useful for anybody who isn’t very small. Maybe lots of people like their necklaces tighter than me though I suppose, but I doubt that.

At 1.5 mm thickness I was expecting these to be a bit more substantial. I have other stainless chains that are only 1 mm that look thicker than these at a glance, but those are snake chains. When you put the two types side by side, these are actually a tiny bit thicker. I think the open link design causes these to look smaller than the solid look of the snake chains.Although I prefer my 1 mm snake chains for most of the pendants I sell, these delicate 1.5 mm chains are absolutely perfect for my really small pendants. I just started a line of 12 mm round (stainless steel) bezel pendants and those look awesome with these chains. For my tastes, I probably wouldn't pair these chains with any pendant larger than about 18 mm.As delicate as the chains look, they are surprisingly tough. I have not had any issues whatsoever with breakage, or ends coming loose. I'm pretty careful with them tho, because I know most chains (even 14k gold) have their breaking points when yanked, etc.For the price, you really get a good number of chains. That is great, because I will probably need one more set of these to finish of the small pendants that I have.Finally, I love stainless steel jewelry. It doesn't tarnish like sterling silver, and it is hypoallergenic. It is not as bright a silver as white gold or sterling, but I personally like the deeper color of stainless.

I've been in need of some gold plated chains lately for some simple pendants I've been working on. These chains are exactly what I needed, priced well, and seem pretty decent.Be aware: these are FINE chains. 1.5mm wide is TINY. Be sure it's what you want before you buy.So, these are supposedly 316L steel, but they do display weak magnetic properties. Take that as you will. I might be from the chain manufacturing process. The clasp is absolutely magnetic, and I suspect it's plated iron or something similar.My only real complaint about these is that the end rings are not welded shut, which means it's possible to pull them open and lose the chain and whatever is on it. Be aware when buying these.Overall, I'm super happy with these fine plated chains -- they're exactly what I needed!

The chains come in their own individual packets which is great - no tangles. The length is a accurate and a nice size. Lobster clasps are sturdy. The only thing I didn't like was the dark, almost gunmetal color of the chains. I was expecting something similar to silver in colour. As a result I can only use these chains with aluminum pendants. They look off with silver coloured metals.
