Well the first thing to know is that it’s definitely black, black as a coal hole, if you’re of an age to remember such things. Will it stay black once you start using the wood burner ? At this moment in time I haven’t a clue as it’s not cold enough for me to want a fire but in relation to improving the look of my wood burner it’s a definite yes from me. Only had my fire for six months and only four months of use had taken the black out of the cast iron. This stuff has definitely put it back and it’s looking like new again so the quality seems to be there. It took very little of the product on a bit of sponge to cover a great deal of metal so I think it ticks the value for money box, it also took very little effort to apply but wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and avoid touching it in any way for a good twenty minutes to allow it to completely dry. I’ll be honest I don’t expect it to last that long once fires are lit and the heat does its thing but as it’s so easy and economical to use I don’t think it’s a major problem. I’m happy enough with the results and the amount needed to achieve them so the jobs a good un.

Used this on my multi fuel log burner brought it up looking like new. Used a damp sponge to apply and would recommend wearing rubber gloves as it's a bit messy. It goes a long way so use sparingly bit tick in texture but definitely a good quality and value for money.Would recommend item and seller.

It looks new,really happy with this was half and half about buying but so glad I did its perfect,and really easy to apply.

Bought this product to bring up my multi fuel fire which at first it did, looked nice for about 20min.I followed the instructions to a tee but now looks worse than before, it has spots all over which wasn’t there before.Will be trying something different next time!

Great set everything you need to clean and restore stove

I historically used the tubes of zebo type stuff but this looked better value so gave it a go. It goes on easier and does come up very well so will use this in future.

I bought a used fireplace insert, this made it look new again. The cleaner works so well, definitely something I'll keep on had during the winter.

It really works and give Matt color I would suggest to wait more than they say but it really is easy to apply with a brush!Love it

I had to return the first tub as the seal was broken, the replacement came next day. Paste is easy to use I just used a brush and a piece of kitchen towel, It dries matt but by using a soft cloth I achieved a satin shine which I like. There is enough product for about 3 or 4 uses, so good for a couple of years if it doesn't dry up.. I haven't lit the fire so hopefully everything will be okay.

Just brush it on and you're done! My rusty old stove no longer attracts attention for all the wrong reasons. I really don't know how they do it, but painting the stove was as simple as brushing olive oil over a red pepper would be (hopefully that sets the scene nicely). The effect is matte, and looks like charcoal. You can give two coats but I stopped at one because the stove looks uniformly black already. It's true that I haven't yet lit a fire because it's summer now, but I have faith that it will stand the test. Easy to clean up afterwards because it's water based: just wash your hands as normal with soap and water and you can get back to folding your white linen.
