Was used by my parents on me as a baby and I continue using it to this day. Love the smell, the texture, and mostly how effective it is for preventing and treating diaper rashes. I can remember the last time I had a diaper rash, and I've been in diapers for 30+ years now.

5 Stars!!! My youngest son's pediatrician told me to get this 30 years ago for diaper rash. He told me to apply it like I was icing a cake. Since then, I buy it for all new mother's and gift it. It is awesome! The smell is so much nicer than any of the others. My family uses it for heat rash, bug bites, diaper rash, and many more things. I cannot stress enough how amazing this cream is!

Balmex is wonderful for diaper rash. I have bought it many times through the years for my children & grandchildren. It usually clears diaper rash up within a 24 hour period, bringing much relief to red irritated & chafed skin. I have also used it on cuts & scrapes as well when I could not find an antibiotic ointment.Mr. Medical staff has been great about refunding an amount that was incurred when the wrong product was sent by mistake. With the pandemic, things happen & sometimes it takes a bit longer to work things out. Thankfully, the staff at Mr. Medical was very understanding & very co-operating with the issue that I had. They have promptly refunded the money for the higher priced advanced formula when I received the less expensive regular formula. Mr. Medical has proven it is a reliable & dependable company. I discovered this product when my children were babies. It has earned a place in my home ever since. First because it works really well and secondly because of its mild smell. Yes it is very thick, paste like actually. The texture is why it works so well. It creates a barrier on the skin which stays put until you remove it. It works well on all sorts of skin irritations. The ingredients are the same as in the adult version. This 16 ounce jar is the better value. I gave it four stars because it is messy to open. There is no way to open the seal without it getting all over your fingers. I suggest waiting until you need to use it to open the seal. Save yourself one clean up.

I love balmex. I use it as a preventative measure. My daughter is almost 4 months now and has never had diaper rash. Sometimes her little butt looks red after a 12 hour night without a diaper change but the redness literally vanishes with just one clean diaper with balmex. It is a nice thick white paste that has no smell (which I love). I have tried vaseline before but it didn't seem like it was doing anything. I also tried desitin and found it to be more watery and have a horrible medicinal smell. Just fyi, before applying any diaper rash ointment you should make sure the babys butt is nice and dry otherwise you are just trapping the moisture under the ointment. I have 2 big 16oz jars for home and bought the 4 pack of the 4 oz tubes for her diaper bags and daycare. p.s I have also used this on a burn I got and it cleared it up in a day.

Helps my daughters rash with the first use

I wish more stores sold this stuff. It really works. My daughter is prone to diaper rashes, so we slather it on with every diaper change. It is similar to Triple Paste, but much less expensive. We go through a 16-ounce in about 4 weeks.An odd discrepancy I've noticed, though, is the consistency of diaper cream varies by package. I find it easiest to apply when it is super thick, but some packages have a creamier consistency. It is still thicker and provides a stronger barrier than alternatives like the often-recommended butt paste.Also, it is free of corn starch, which makes it ideal for use with a bottom prone to yeast infections.
