Firstly, I have used and loved K18, what this product is a supposed partial dupe for. Unlike that, this is a rinse-out mask, but still requires freshly washed hair before application so make sure you wash first! I recently went a little overboard with lightening my hair to change colors and my curls got loose and limp as a result. I still have some K18 left but I wanted to try this out and really give it a good test run on bleach damaged hair. After 1 use, my hair was certainly softer and less frizzy but still straight and limp. 3 uses, and I could see curls trying to spring up again. 6 uses, and the curls are continuing to regain their shape while my hair overall feels softer, less frazzled, and shinier. That's faster results than K18 typically gives me, and a massively lower price point (though I did also use the pre-wash oil alongside this at times) I haven't used it any more yet but I expect improvements to continue. Some things to note: This is NOT a deep conditioner and you will need to use a regular conditioner after rinsing this out, especially if you have curly hair. You don't need to drench your hair this bit you do need to use more than you would with K18. I use about as much as I would a regular conditioner and then comb it through for even coverage. Don't expect immediately dramatic results if your hair has really been through the ringer. Again, the first couple of uses just left my hair softer and less frizzy, it wasn't until 3 or 4 that I saw my natural texture coming back slowly.

Insanely good. My hair is extremely porous and broken after bleaching. This works better than my olaplex system. Im shocked at how much better my hair feels after 1 use.

Likes: clean product Dislike: bought in Oct 2024 and it expired in November 2023. Doesn't really do much for my hair that my other products can't do. The bottle container isn't minimalist. It's plastic.

I was recommended by a friend to try this item. With the cost of hair supplies, I’ve been looking for cheaper alternatives that do the same thing. This mask works wonders! You will use a bit more than you would K18 but you will get anywhere from 3 to 6 uses out of it (depends a lot on your hair length, thickness, etc). My hair is very thick and is straight to below my shoulder blades. Great value for the price and I will be recommending to everyone!!!

I bought this as a dupe for K18 and I was not disappointed! For reference, I have very thick, frizzy, coarse hair that is highlighted blonde and dark blonde. The front of my hair tends to have a lot of breakage. I used K18 for months and did not feel like my hair got any better. I’ve only used Minimalist Hair Mask 2 times and my hair feels stronger, silkier and less frizzy. I could tell after I rinsed it out that it worked wonders in my hair. I also use the Abby Young method and this product is definitely replacing K18 and saving me a ton of money in the process.

Excellent on darker hair, rinse with cold water. If your hair is really thin, use sparingly on mid to ends. I have a lot of straight to wavy hair that is currently color treated. The bonding process requires raising the Ph so, this might affect the tone of your hair while improving the texture.

Didn't expect much of result but the feel of hair after 1st wash is smooth and silky.

This Minimalist Hair Mask is fantastic, especially for anyone with coloured or chemically treated hair. The 5% Maleic Bond complex seriously delivers on repair. I've used it for a few weeks, and it has noticeably reduced breakage and split ends. It's thick and hydrating, but washes out cleanly without leaving any heavy residue. My hair feels stronger, looks significantly smoother, and has a great shine. It’s an effective, high-end treatment at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend for bond repair and intense hydration.
