Excellent quality and good value
I bought this radio about 3 months ago and it has been my constant companion ever since. It is easy to use and is very portable – portability being the main reason I bought it. Most of the time I am using it on battery power and I don’t feel that I need to charge it very often (but see my note below about powering it down). It also seems to charge quite quickly when needed. The sound quality is really excellent. Looking at their website this is a selling point for them and something they work hard to achieve. I was a bit hesitant about buying a mono radio initially, but the sound quality is so good that I needn’t have worried. I use it at a range of volume levels (from very low to quite high) and I don’t hear any distortion. I listen to a range of stations from talk radio through to pop and classical music. This may sound strange, but I also use it as an auxiliary speaker for a LCD TV (which could have benefitted from a sound bar), and it really does enhance that TV. I am hearing background sounds on programmes that I was missing before. This is a use I hadn’t foreseen for this unit. This is not my only DAB radio, I already had an older unit from well-known brand and comparing this unit to that one (which is stereo), the sound quality of this radio is much better.Regarding the user manual, I would say that there is room for improvement. The first thing you need to do is download the PDF version from their website because the manual is so tiny and the print size is tiny. That said, I did find the radio quite easy to set up. It did a quick scan and I was up and running and listening to a radio station within minutes. It took a bit longer to work out how to programme stations into the memory and I think this is something that is not well described in the manual. However, with a little bit of trial and error I worked out how to do this. I admit that there are a couple of steps to this and now that it is three months later, if I needed to go back and programme other stations, I would need to go back to the manual to do it.The other thing that does not seem to be explained properly is the fact that to switch the unit off you need to press the power button twice, the first time you press and hold the power button, when you release it you will see a time and date display. You then have to press and hold the power button again (you should see a message stating: “power off” and then the screen goes blank). I found that initially when I left the time and date display on that this had the effect of using up some battery power and meant that I needed to charge the unit more often. Once I started actually powering it down completely when not in use (usually overnight) it made a real difference. On day to day operation, it is easy to use. I listen to a range of stations and it is easy to switch between them. I don’t use any of the other functionality (like the sleep function or alarm function). All in all, I would recommend this radio as a good quality value for money item.

For music it probably pleases so called Pop Music addicts but naturally cannot be expected to give good quality classical music
Review 4cooltechnology. Moreaudio.Model Desire.Reviews (including the ‘Which’ consumer organisation) seldom mention radios sensitivity. If you can’t hear, the signal there isn’t any point in going further. Several DAB receivers used here, Cambridgeshire, required an external aerial to get a signal. Not so the Moreaudio radio, it is remarkably sensitive and continues to receive DAB signals even with the whip aerial closed. Another plus point is the sound quality from a case only 6 inches wide. Speech is clear, although it cannot correct the faults of the BBC chat shows where the participants are ignorant of microphone techniques, which are very different from direct speaking to the human ear.For music it probably pleases so called Pop Music addicts but naturally cannot be expected to give good quality classical music reproduction. For £40 it is a bargain. It falls down rather on the instruction leaflet which confused me and others. The basics are that the two bottom buttons labelled ‘Tune’ are in fact left and right scan whilst what is displayed on the excellent screen is entered, or selected, by pressing the volume control (VC). For example to recall a preset station press ‘Preset’, use the arrows to find the preset number displayed (along with the station name) and then press the VC to enter or lock the displayed station. An exception is to repeatedly press the ‘Power Monitor’ button to select DAB,FM or AUX and then VC to enter it.Once this is mastered the leaflet makes more sense and operation is simple and very helpful. All round I would recommend this as a useful well thought out and designed radio. The Li\Fe cell is readily available at well under £5 should it ever need replacing or if it is desired to use a higher capacity cell than the 1800mA one supplied. But some means would have to be used to solder or weld the leads to the cell.I have not tested the AUX sensitivity or impedance but hardly necessary as good amplifiers are cheap and this radio does not record.Bob King.

Fabulous little radio.
I've owned this radio for around 6 months now, so have had a good while to find out any downfalls with it.This is a fairly small radio, nice to hold with its rubber surround and pleasing on the eye. I mainly use this as a bathroom radio and sometimes in the garden and it lasts a very long time on a single charge. I usually get around 2 weeks out of mine and only takes a few hours to charge back to full. I think it has 32 presets but to be honest it's more presets than I could possibly need, although I'm sure many people will find this useful. The sound from this radio is loud if needed and does not seem to suffer from distortion even at high levels. The sound is well balanced for both speech and music, although don't expect any deep bass from such a small unit. The sensitivity of the radio, especially DAB is astounding . I don't even have to have the antenna up at all ( I live in a medium to good reception area).A couple of minor niggles, but not worth detracting from 5 stars. It can be fiddly to initially set up, especially with the presets (I am however a bloke and we never read instructions). When the battery dies, it dies without warning and there is nothing on the battery indicator to tell you that it is low (well not on mine anyway).Other than those very minor drawbacks it is a super little radio and I thoroughly recommend it. Go and buy!!!
