Unusable tea that is a safety hazard
I was very much looking forward to trying this English breakfast. I even shot straight for the one pound bag because the reviews for this tea were decent and the company has a guarantee that the tea will be the best English breakfast that I'll have tried. When I opened the bag I was greeted by a ghastly pungent chemical smell which I attribute to the oddly colored powder sticking to the sides of the bag. I nearly gagged and naively hoped that this aroma would not transfer to the taste of the tea. Giving it the benefit of the doubt I steeped a cup per the bag's instructions and to no surprise the aroma from the tea was the same and the sip I forced myself to take was quickly spit out.The tea smells and tastes like rat poison. Not only is it not the best English breakfast I've had (Rishi's 2.29 oz of loose leaf has been the best), but it is completely unusable, I can't even give it away. I could try to use it as what it smells like, rat poison, but rats are smarter than to dare try to approach the stench of this tea.I took the company up on their refund policy (returns are not accepted) and was told that I would need to send a picture of the bag and powder before they refund me. A lot of gall they have, I provided the photos I have attached to this review. It's been a day and still no refund.I'm utterly disappointed and would advise anyone to stay clear of this tea and company.

Excellent morning tea
This is malty and sweet with a flowery finish. A strong yet delicate black tea. I prefer it with milk and sugar in the morning to wake up, but it has so many layers that I'm sure it would be good plain, with just sugar, or maybe even iced. An excellent tea that I would definitely purchase again. As a note, I was in no way paid or compensated to write this review. A lot of companies give people free products in order to get reviews, but that is not the case here. I try my best to review all products I buy. This tea is good, and no one paid me or gave me anything for free to say that.

NOT TGFOP anymore, broken leaves now but same price
This was whole leaf TGFOP that I really liked, ordered twice in the past and was 5 Star quality. When I reordered by clicking on my last order I got broken leaves for the same price, lesser quality but the same price. They are 2 different products, different quality and usually priced and labeled differently. I understand that a tea estate or producer will have both as broken leaves happen in the processing of the tea but to represent them to be the same is disingenuous at best.Lance

Excellent, reliable, reasonably priced whole-leaf tea
I switched from tea-bags to whole leaf tea a few months ago and have been searching for a reliable source of fresh, whole-leaf tea. This is it. All other teas I tried came with a large amount of dust and broken leaves, which distorts the flavor and adds extra tannins. There is no dust at all in this tea. I buy the 1lb bag and decant it into a tea caddy - I have now done this for 2lb without cleaning out the tea caddy, and the dust in the bottom is negligible. You will need an infuser or a tea strainer for whole leaf tea, of course. Enjoy!

DISAPPOINTED IN THE ASSAM GOLDEN TIPS
I am a great fan of farm to customer businesses - and I love to support entrepreneurs from India. I purchased last season's harvest of both Ghograjan's English Breakfast and their regular Assam - as their Golden Tips was already sold out. I enjoyed both the English Breakfast and the Assam. I was really looking forward to this season's Golden Tips Assam - but what I just received is quite disappointing. Instead of being "lighter" and more "flowery" - this season's harvest of the Assam Golden Tips is heavy and harsh - with a real bitter bite to the flavor. I am a long time connoisseur of India's teas, and accept that the Ghorgrajan's brand is a "high-middle level" brand. That said - their Golden Tips should stand shoulders above their regular Assam, and this season's did not. I hope they do better next year!

Very Disapointed
I received this and was so excited after reading the reviews, However quickly regretted my decision in purchasing. I have never had such a grassy tasting tea. That is all I smell and taste is wet grass. I am so sad as I cannot return this and I definitely will not use it so into the trash it goes. I know that there can always be a bad bat h, but when you can't return it makes me rethink, buying tea from Amazon.

Great TGFOP tea with plenty of golden tips
The aroma is noticeable upon opening the package.Although a second flush tea, I was pleasantly surprised to note that there was none of the grassy, wet leaves taste I got from another Assam Second Flush tea I bought from another vendor on Amazon. The English breakfast tea is great brewed for the recommended 120 seconds and has good color and complexity and increasing brew time to 180 seconds as an alternative also suggested makes it stronger without adding the astringency seen with a high quality darjeeling tea that is brewed too long.In summary, a great, fresh, quality black tea with tips to add variety with complexity.

Mild, golden-red brew
This was a milder, less rich Assam but very smooth and somewhat malty. If you like a black tea that doesn't fur up your tongue with tannin and that brews golden-red but not overly strong, this is a good tea.I like a bit heavier Assam, most of the time and this seems weaker than I'd like but it's a good quality tea. It's packed in a brown paper package with zip closure and foil liner. Store in your own sealed dark canister.
