Thing is great so far. Hook it up and does the work fast . even when battery is dead

I got j401 and j402. 402 is better. Started with completely dead battery more than 5 times and the charge indicator went down only one bar . Had to hook the neg to the engine, instead of the battery neg terminal, otherwise would not start.

I was parked in a way where I couldn't get a jump start from another vehicle and a guy walked out with this and jump started my truck with no problem. He said he had jumped started several vehicles before me without recharging it and was concerned about being able to jump my diesel truck. He had no problem getting me on my way. Bought this on Amazon on the way home.

I have used it several times to start my Freightliner with the Cummins 6.7l diesel engine. Starts without hesitation! Buy the case for it too.

Great Product...

My truck battery was completely drained and after placing cables on my from this unit started my truck immediately. This is a must have product. I got the idea from roadside assistance when they came to jump start my other vehicles in the past.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how incredibly tough and sturdy this thing is. The term Military Grade doesn’t even do it justice. With a thick plastic housing and rubber plug style covers for the connection ports, it is hard to imagine an environment that this couldn’t handle. The next major feature I noticed was how bright and clear the display is. With a single short press (I would have expected a long press like you need to turn it off) of the power button, the unit springs to life. The standard display shows the unit’s battery life in green bars (1-4) and the voltage reading in white. In addition to these main indicators, the unit also has icons for charging, fast and normal, USB power out, abnormal jumpstarter connection and abnormal temperature. The unit comes with cables which connect USB A to C, C to C, and C to 12V car plug. These are in addition to the jumper cables which are awesome! This kit comes with a pair of one of the most unique set of jumper clamps I’ve ever seen. They have a sort of U shape that allows the jaws to open VERY wide and get a better, more reliable grip on battery terminals, connections or car frame. Very impressive. This unit provides an incredible amount of power for both jumping and charging. I would not hesitate to use it to jump start pretty much any 12 volt vehicle system. It will also charge several devices and come up smiling. Along with everything else, it also has a very bright and useful light on the end. Activated by a long press of the lamp button near the screen, you have three light modes. With a short press of the same button you can cycle through continuous white light, flashing red (fast flash like a police car), and flashing Morse code S.O.S in red. All are very bright and visible.

My car died in a busy two-lane tunnel one day and I vowed never again would I be put in such a miserable situation without some redundancy for my battery. I also changed out my bulbs for all led ones in case they were drawing too much juice as well. But the main solution to my problem is this jump starter because just having it in my trunk makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside even though I haven't had the opportunity to use it so far. For the time being it has only been my emergency light and backup phone charger for now. It advertises a 30-month standby but I plan to keep it juiced up every 6 months or so just in case. 30 months is nutty to think of though and I doubt I will ever let it sit around so long to test if that is really true or not. 8/10 I would recommend it.
