Installed this myself and I knew nothing about fireplace repair.
Had to replace the pilot assembly on my Majestic fireplace after I had trouble getting the pilot light to ignite. Even if it would ignite, the flame would go out very quickly thereafter.Bought and installed this assembly 5 years ago. The only thing I knew about gas fireplaces were how to flip a switch to turn them on and off. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace it and did it myself no problem. It's a little tight in there, but not so much that I couldn't get it installed without removing parts. It's really straight forward. Others have stated that there are no instructions, but you don't need them - just disconnect the existing assembly and plug in the new one. The most difficult part of the install is the application of the fireproof caulk you'll need for the underside of the pilot light itself, since the caulk gun won't fit in such a tight space (I think I put the caulk on a paper towel, reached my hand in there and spread it around). It doesn't look good, but it's sealed and has protected the underside since installed. One of the things I learned through this process is to never shut off the pilot light. Leave it on year-round. I live in a humid climate and if the pilot light is off, it allows for moisture to build up in the fire box and it will eventually rust out. I had surface rust all over the fire box. I sanded it and repainted, along with adding new lava rock and glowing embers. The fireplace looked brand new when I was done and has held up and worked great in the 5 years since. If I can do it, so can you. This really is a pretty straight-forward repair (at least for my fireplace) and you'll save a ton of money doing it yourself.

Quick delivery and easy install for my Majestic 36BDVR
I ordered this part after noticing that my pilot light would not stay lit after I had cleaned it many times. The new unit was an exact fit and was installed after moving the logs and removing only three screws. Nice clean pilot light after the installation and the fireplace started up much faster than previously. Was able to turn the pilot level almost completely off with how well it was now burning.Only con: no documentation or instructions are given with the device, although the install was simple. Also to my surprise, the item was somehow delivered in less than 24 hours under a prime shipment.

Very Challenging Project for Homeowners
It was clear that I needed a new thermopile for my 42" Magestic natural gas fireplace. The pilot stayed on, but lighting the main burner from the switch was hit or miss. A thermopile generates a miniscule amout of current from the pilot's heat to open the valve to the main burner and it wasn't happening consistently and, eventually, not at all. I didn't have a multimeter that could measure below 1 volt, so I couldn't verify that the thermopile was truly defective. Nevertheless, I persevered and purchased the pilot assembly which included not only a thermopile, but a thermocouple for the pilot, and electrodes for the piezo. The piezo wasn't sparking, so I felt a new electrode wouldn't hurt.First of all, this is not the simple job I imagined. I thought I would simply change the main parts next to the main burner. However, you cannot separate the tubes and wires from the electrodes! Therefore, the entire assembly must be replaced! To replace the entire assembly, just about everything above the main pan, including the logs and main burner must be removed. You must also have access below the main pan to run the tubes and wires to the valve. This involves removing the glass doors and trim pieces. There are no instructions for any of this.Once you have access, the job becomes simpler, although you still have to have your wits about you since you can't see very well under the main pan. Don't remove all the tubes and wires from the valve at the same time or it will be more difficult to locate the exact point to place the new ones.Connecting all of the components to the valve is fairly easy, however, one electrical connector did not match up, so I had to locate a female, insulated connector, bare a wire, and attach it. Also, it was not obvious how the piezo wire connected to the valve, but it can be connected by simply inserting the cable into an opening in the back of the piezo.Testing the assembly before putting everything back together is wise so that you can correct any errors. Fortunately, my install solved the problem the first time around. The install cured all of my fireplace's problems: The burner lights from the switch almost immediately every time, the pilot burns better at a lower setting, and the piezo now works. It's almost as if I have a new fireplace. In conclusion, this is not a job for most homeowners. This is a challenging project with no instructions. You are likely to get part way through it and give up and call a tech, or simply never start the project, if you're not real handy.

Perfect part, saved me tons by doing myself
Exactly what I needed for our fireplace. Install wasn't the easiest but that's not due to the part, just the difficulty of getting to the parts in the overall fireplace. Thanks for a great part which with some help of online videos saved me a ton of doing the repair myself.

Worked great but no instructions included
Instructions would have been nice, but YouTube did the manufacturers job once again. Fit well but be VERY CAREFUL with the two gas lines or you'll weaken the copper/brass when you unroll & connect them.

get the best
I ordered two other cheaper pilot assemblies from amazon both of them could not produce a strong flame after being told by a gas fireplace serviceman that they were junk he suggested i order a oem pilot assembly and the majestic one i ordered from your company works great

It works!
This is a huge pain to install but that is not the fault of the part. Once installed it worked great. The bracket that the parts attach t was different on my fireplace so I had to transfer all the new parts over to the old bracket but it was not too bad. Overall very happy with the fireplace working again. If you want to save money you could just try changing the thermopile but it’s so difficult to install might as well change everything.

EASILY ADAPTABLE
When you consider that this item was intended for specific models it was easily fitted to my application. I have a Majestic fireplace that is no longer produced. My unit has no thermopile so I removed it from the base plate. This is used for a remote start switch. I was left with 3 concerns. 1. Would the fittings work? They fit perfectly. 2. Would the lines be long enough and could they be easily installed without kinks or any type of damage. No problem. Just be gentle and patient. 3. Would the front burner ignite without the pilot throwing its flame to the thermocouple, the rear burner, and into the space between burners. The 3 port pilot is not adjustable. It has one orientation and is locked in this position with a keyway. If you orient the fireplace like a compass, the rear is north. The pilot throws a flame to the east, north, and west. In a perfect world, I need my pilot to be in the north, east and south orientation. 2 out of 3 is what I had and it worked perfectly. The base was an exact match for the original. It screwed in place flawlessly. The install took 30-40 minutes. there was some difficulty aligning and threading in the thermocouple and the gas line. The inlets were located at the rear of the gas valve SIT. I had to look in a mirror. All in all, it was a worthwhile learning experience. It has worked flawlessly for the last month. The fireplaced would have needed to be replaced at a ridiculous cost. some quotes were over $6,000. GOOD LUCK, STAY SAFE, HEALTHY, AND KEEP WARM.

Perfect for my majestic fireplace! Easy to install your self
This part fit perfectly on my majestic fireplace! Every fire place store kept telling me to buy a whole new fireplace instead of helping me solve the issue which was the pilot gas was low and due to that it wouldn't catch fire! Literally bought the new pilot Assembly and my dad and i got it done ourselves within 40 mins! Easily done! Do not worry about the gas hazard issue just make sure to take pictures to guide yourself before assembling! The part matches all the wires to previous set! Stupid gas tech quoted me 850 for the part and I found this for fraction of the price! Don't get ripped off by these un genuine ppl! Get the part and get it done yourself and be warm this winter! Have a bless winter everyone for bless!
