Scoops!
I've been eating plantain chips for a while and trust the Barnana brand. The scoops are interesting and fun to eat chicken salad with or any other dips/spreads. Use them in place of other corn tortilla scoops or chips. They are thicker, but I think you'll love them!

Purchased this more than once and intend to purchase it again. Like the high fiber content.

Horrible taste
I usually love plantain chips. Even flavored ones are usually good. This one is not! This is one of the most foul tasting things I've ever tried. My husband tried them too and gagged. They are very had, but most banana/plantain chips are. Bags are not resealable.

The ranch does NOT blend well with these
These plantain chips do NOT taste good with the ranch flavoring. It has the weirdest after taste. I love plantain chips on their own but I am not feeling it with this particular flavor. The chips themselves are also not super crunchy, the scoop slices are very thick and they are more chewy if anything else.

Yummy!
I'm trying to cut back on carbs that don't have much fibber. This little snack scoop is perfect! Plenty of fiber per ounce of snack scoop for hummus or salsa. Highly recommend!

Crunchy texture, ranchy flavor, perfect for dipping
Plantain chips can go either way. Sometimes they are good but other times they are rock hard and flavorless. These Barnana Rowdy Ranch plantain chips are one of the better ones I have tried. I am a salty snack lover and these really hit the spot when I'm craving something crunchy and salty! The chips have a traditional plantain crunch. It's not airy and crispy like a potato chip. It has a denser, somewhat mealy crunch that is still equally satisfying. The flavor is what really makes these stand out from other brands of plantain chips. If you are tired of bland, under seasoned chips, these might be just what you are looking for. They have a nice amount of ranch seasoning, aren't overly salty, and don't have any off putting flavors. They also aren't super sweet like many plantain chips that I have tried. If you are a dipper, the texture of these is definitely sturdy enough to hold up to pretty much any kind of toppings or dips. I prefer mine plain but I have paired them with hummus (both garlic and plain) and avocado ranch dip and all were quite tatsy!

Taste and texture like thicker potato chips with good ranch flavor, great snack
I love thicker versions of french fries and potato chips. Give me those steak fries and homemade thicker cut chips that don't just immediately melt in your mouth because they're only 10% potato with the rest being oil, salt, etc. Which is exactly why I love these Barnana plantain chips, they're just like those thicker cut potato chips, with a lot of crunch and a little bit of chew to them. Without looking at them, you'd never know they weren't just thick cuts of potato. Of course, helping that plantain-potato switcheroo cover-up is the addition of a very strong ranch flavor. Which I don't mind at all because I'm human, and I feel like either Ranch has been chemically designed via its ingredients to make our tongues super happy or we've been genetically bred to love Ranch dressing flavor by an alien race. Which ever one of those two things is easiest is probably the right answer. Probably the Ranch ingredients one, I guess. So these things have a good crunch, a little bit of chew, and a really good fried flavor made even better by the addition of Ranch. These have significantly less fat than normal chips, they have enough substance to them that you can use them like those scoop-shaped tortilla chips without risk of them breaking. We used these with super thick macaroni and they never broke once despite the weight and pull of the cheese. Even tortilla chips don't always survive that, but these do and yet they're still somehow crispy. Seriously, what's not to love here? ***Overall Value*** Okay, well, maybe the cost is a little bit higher than potato or tortilla chips, but not by as much as you'd think. This 6-pack has 30 ounces total of plantain chips and to get that many tortilla chips you're typically paying about $12-15. This pack is $20, but the chips have less sodium per serving and slightly more nutritional value. It's not a bad trade-off, and these taste great and are better at scooping and holding toppings because the plantain's are just stronger.
