AWESOME BOOK
I came across this book in the bookstore accidentally and believe me, I was awe struck at the way the author has explained the science concepts so beautifully and wonderfully that even the very young can appreciate . My son is 28 months old and 'am on my way to get a copy of this book .I'm sure he'd love all those activities in the book and this is a fun way to introduce even the youngest children to science concepts. I'm sure I'm gonna end up buying lots of books by this author. HURRAY TO THE AUTHOR AND THE ILLUSTRATOR.

Parent, Home Schooler or Teacher - a 5 Star Book
As a college level science educator, I purchased this book to work with my elementary school teachers as a way to help their students understand properties of light and reflection. The science and accompanying activities are beautifully integrated in challenging but stimulating way that should encourage conversations between teacher, parent and student/child. For instance, the author asks children to look at their reflections on the inside of shiny soup spoons and then compare that image to the one on the outside of the same spoons. Most everyone is likely to be in for a surprise and a lively discussion around the table ensues. In another activity, children use a mirror and a small flashlight in a darkened room to look at reflected light on the ceiling and walls and make observations about angles. All of this is woven into story form, linking science and literature in an artful manner.

Science exploration
All of Vicki Cobb's books are wonderful because they encourage children to explore with someone else using simple materials. I have three of her books so far.

A really great science book
A really great science book, but as a grandparent I wouldn't buy it ... it is only an occasional read. However, if you happen to have a library walking distance from your house (I do) & you are trying to encourage your 2 year old grandbaby to become a quantum physicist (I do) then this whole series of books is a great, fun way to get young children interested is science.
