The belt arrived quickly and with the required hardware. NOTE: you must remove the tensioner assembly (bolt with chain link, spring, washer, from the old belt and re-use it with the new belt, otherwise, everything you need is included. Installation took roughly 15 minutes and required only a philips head screw driver (to remove the sprocket cover on the opener), a small flat head screwdriver (to remove the chain link retaining clip on the tensioner, a 1/2" or adjustable wrench to remove and then re-tension the tensioner, and a ladder. Take pictures of everything *before* you disassemble it so you can put it back together properly. Having a small a cup handy to hold the pieces while you work is helpful.Once installed, tighten the tensioner until the belt is fairly taut; it should not droop at all. Test it the first time with the door disconnected from the opener; if necessary, adjust tensioner if the belt droops and the up and down controls on the opener to make sure the moving carriage doesn't hit the stop bolt on the rail and that the bottom of the door is flush with the top of the garage entrance when open. The carriage should finishes over the door release/engage bracket when in the fully down position. I did not need to adjust this on mine.Tip: if you're not sure whether the opener thinks its in the up or down position, start the opener running and then break the safety beam. If the opener was raising the door, it will continue until it's finished; if it was lowering the door, it will reverse direction and go to the up position. Either way, when the opener is done and turns off the motor, it will be in the up/open position.Safety Tip: Once the opener is in the up/open position, UNPLUG the opener before you start doing any work to replace the belt. Do not do any work on the opener or belt while the opener is plugged in.

Fit perfect and performs just like the original belt (when the original belt was new). It looked like it was going to be slightly too long, but it was perfect length after I adjusted the tension correctly. Just make sure that you order the correct size for your garage door.

Honestly, my cousin told me to hire someone to put it on since it would be hard to do. Watched a few YouTube videos and looked at what I had to do. Did it one day and it didn't take too long. Next day I tweaked it a little tighter. So easy even though it looks daunting. Works nice.

Be sure to take the time and take the old belt down and measure it before ordering. There are so many to choose from. I first ordered a 261 inch but needed a 257 inch. It cost me another day but saved $20. Fits great and only took 15 minutes to install. Check the end pieces too and get it right the first time unlike me. 😀

Update (02272024): I broke down and purchased the OEM version (Chamberlain Group G8808CB-P) but purchasing the Chamberlain 8 foot extension. Unlike the belt being sold here, the OEM belt fit perfectly, see the second photo. It was less expensive to purchase the entire Chamberlain 8 foot extension kit, which includes a rail and a belt than to purchase the OEM belt alone. I'm reducing my rating for this belt to 1 star instead of 2. It was so short I thought I had done something wrong.The length described in the description is correct, however, the belt is too short to fit a Chamberlain garage door when you purchase the extension for an 8 foot door. Belt came in around 255 inches, but was well short of what was needed. If you've purchased the Chamerlain with an 8 foot extension for taller garage doors, this may not work for you.
