The Ultimate Collection

One of the finest vocal groups of all time, this set epitomises everything that was good about doo-wop: superb lead vocals by Tony Williams, some terrific songs(including a number of old standards), lush orchestrations, etc. There are also some lead vocals by(presumably) Zola Taylor and Herb Reed just to add a different dimension to the overall effect.Some of my favourites are 'Harbour Lights', 'Ebb Tide', 'Sleepy Lagoon', and 'Where' , but there are so many excellent numbers here- the only well known track I can think of NOT included here is 'Sorry'Excellent value, and thoroughly recommended.

what a fantastic cdwell worth the cash if only for the memories certain songs bring you like smoke gets in your eyes reminds me of the very first advert I remember as a kid for Esso blue paraffin etc

There are some great tracks on this, but beware, a few songs do sound like the main vocal has been recorded in a wind tunnel (I'm not sure what they've done to those tracks) though most of the other recordings the sound is good.

Good CD it's got all the oldies witch I like. Better than the new crap
