Overall rating based on the price point; at the < $175 this is a solid choice for a fluid indoor bike trainer. There are much better fluid trainers on the market, but at this price point this is a good quality trainer. If you find it on sale that is a bonus. Despite the sparse assemble directions, it goes together smoothly and you can be riding quickly after unpacking. The front legs cannot be fully extended to the locked position if you have a 29"-er, but it still rides steady, and it is stable getting on and off. If you over extend the legs the 29" wheel will hit the mat and you will grind down your tire and hear much more noise. For 26", 27.5" and 700's the fully extended legs should not be an issue. (It works fine for 29"-ers, just check your tire clearance regularly if it is placed on a soft mat). I wanted the ability to 'grind' at a steady pace and this works perfectly to add some resistance for a long steady pace. It is not silent, but not disturbingly loud -- I measured the sound at ~73 db on my Apple Watch running at about 70 rpm. That is equivalent to a vacuum cleaner, and that sounds about right. Edit: Some additional information about the noise level - the tire I am using is a knobby all-terrain tire so that adds to the noise level. A smooth tread tire will be quieter.

Received today, assembled in less than an hour,rode for one hour this evening. Very smooth and quiet. Only complaint is shipped by FedEx. I live a quarter of a mile off the road. FedEx leaves the package out by the road , not our address. I like UPS because they always deliver to our address with a smile. Back to the trainer, it feels very solid and I had a solid feel during my ride. The resistance is fine, which can be adjusted with the bike shifter and pedaling speed (cadence). My bike is a Diamondback with 700 size tires. I see no reason why this trainer shouldn’t last for a few years, or I’ll repoer back.

This is good for indoor use. My bike hooked up easily, but I did have to order a separate axel for another bike. It seems like it will hold up. I use it for half hour cardio workouts, but I do wishes there was a bit more resistence. I chief complaint is that it can't get it level. It definitely leans to the left, but itn the end I put a bit for padding undert he left side and I am happy with it. No power, batteries, or wifi needed. Just listen to some.music and ride. Change gears to increase the resistence. Good value.

I was excited when the trainer stand arrived. I found it was extremely easy to assemble, was very sturdy, and was easy to attach my bike. So far so good. Then I jumped on my bike, ready for my first workout, and I was surprised how noisy the trainer was. I thought I must have done something wrong in the setup, so I reread the instructions and made sure I had followed them completely. I had. I jumped back on and again was surprised how noisy the trainer was. One of the things that had sold me on the Sportneer Fluid Trainer Stand was their description of the trainer being "whisper quiet." It wasn't. I reached out to Sportneer, expressing my displeasure at the noise, and Jasmine responded quickly with a few suggestions on how to reduce the noise level. They didn't work. I got back in touch with Jasmine and she asked me to send a video showing the trainer in use so they could hear the noise level. I did. When Sportneer reviewed the video they determined to send me a new trainer stand. When it arrived I set it up, very easily again, and jumped on the bike to see if the new stand was any quieter. It was, but not a lot. I guess my idea of what "whisper quiet" means is not the same as Sportneer's. Don't get me wrong, the trainer is not so noisy that I fear for my hearing, it's just not as quiet as I had imagined. I have used the trainer enough that I am now use to the sound. The best part of all of this is how wonderful Sportneer has been in trying to solve my problem. Jasmine was always quick to respond to my emails and I could tell that the company truly wanted to make me happy with my purchase. For that reason I would highly recommend the Sportneer Fluid Trainer Stand!

Nice trainer. Very quiet and easy to setup. You need to know though that if your bike has a thru axle you will probably need to purchase a thru axle that works with trainers. If your bike has quick release skewers then no problem. I picked up a thru axle for trainers on Amazon and then everything worked fine.

First off, the Chinglish assembly instructions are next to worthless. However, it is easy to figure out and setup for use. It is a very sturdy unit. Good quality materials and quality assembly. I am glad I got the fluid/oil based one for a little more money than the magnetic one. It is smooth and even running with almost no jerkiness. Noise wise it is pretty good. It makes a pretty good whirring noise (at least with my touring tires) but not super noisy. I would estimate about half as loud as my treadmill. Putting a training tire on would probably quite it further. The resistance adjustment seems to work well. I run the bike mostly on the middle ring, high gear. There is plenty more adjustment both on the bike and on the unit to make it way harder. Overall, pretty pleased with it. Sometimes wish I had of sprung for one that could hook up to show you speed, distance, etc.. but they were a lot more money. This one is great value for what it is.
