Really glad I ordered this for gritting my drive. Easy to use and does a great job

The product is reasonably well made and sensibly priced. For a domestic use has a good carrying capacity for use as a Grit or Salt spreader. Not so good as a grass fertiliser spreader , and almost impossible for grass seed for the following reasons. It would really benefit from having an adjustment for the discharge gap whilst in use rather then having to adjust cable length with spanner’s. The competition have a simple numbered twist system for fine tuning. In the hopper floor are two horizontal sections these delay/stop the contents easy discharge not insurmountable but requires twisting or bouncing the equipment. These. Problems easily sorted with slight cheap design change. If you are mindful of the above I can still recommend

At first I thought this grit spreader was a complete waste of money as the spreading mechanism wasn't turning which meant salt was just slipping out in very small amounts or not at all.I really wanted it to work as it had good reviews and looked like it could do a great job.So after yesterday’s disappointment, I decided to give the spreader a good look over to see what might be wrong. Realised the “turning mechanism” situated between the two sturdy wheels, had come out of its setting so one side was a bit off centre. Pushed it back together and it all snapped into shape.Gave the spreader a little test drive and YEY!!!! success!It’s an awesome grit/salt spreader, sturdy, great coverage, and does the job well.So happy and relieved as I really wanted it to work well.Now hoping to buy another as we use spreaders to salt paths around our town to make it easier for everyone to get out for some fresh air etc

Product is of a plastic satisfactory quality. Not of good quality that would be of ease from the get go, but when working, works.This product when grit is used for your path or driveway can clog even at the recommended height for stopping levels. The pin to rotate the salt is so flimsy and unable to move the grit which is required to be spread. It needs constant turning and moving away from the pin to do its job.As for seed spreading, can’t say yet as is winter, but for grit it’s not really a product to waste your time on if you want it done fast and effectively.

This isn’t fit for purpose. Build quality is questionable. Basically not worth a w**k only give it 1 star cause I had to!

Received very quickly, easy to set up and was gritting my drive within 5 mins. Good spread/coverage of grit. 80 ft driveway done within 5 mins. Even did next doors. Would recommend

Got this to salt the local paths using the grit provided by the council which did not mix very well once the weight compacted it the feeder clogged up. Probably as the grit the council use is mixed with sand and you need to find decent salt in a bin somewhere (or buy your own) otherwise you can only half fill it which means never straying away from the full bins.
