Expensive, but worth it!
We were first time Intex above-ground pool owners in Iowa, and knew we weren't going to enjoy our pool if the water was freezing. This FibroPool heat pump was EXPENSIVE, so it was a gamble that it would actually keep our 8400 gallon pool heated, but it was worth it! We found we liked it set at 86 degrees, and added one of those blue bubble-wrap looking solar covers to help keep the heat in. Most days the heat pump didn't even run as the water was still at the right temp. It maybe only took a couple of days to get our initial 70 degree tap water warmed up. The heat pump is VERY quiet, which was a plus. We also specifically bought this model of heat pump because it used a regular 110v outlet. We did end up having our electrician come out and put in a dedicated outlet for both the heat pump and sand filter so they didn't trip (our fuse was too small.) We did have a little bit of trouble understanding that the included threaded adapters for the inlet and outlet were just that - adapters, so be sure you have the proper threaded hoses to go back to your pool (again, rookie mistake on our part.) We ended up needing a longer threaded hose for the outlet back into the pool just due to the distance from our outlet as the cord on the heat pump isn't that long and we didn't want to run it on an extension cord. Overall, we are extremely happy we took the chance on this heat pump. We were able to enjoy our pool even when the nights dipped down cool. Nobody likes getting into a freezing cold pool!

Great heater!
I love this pool heater. I live in Minnesota and keep the pool set at 90 degrees. It keeps our pool nice and warm. In the cooler the days it will keep the pool as warm as possible. In early Oct. it was keeping it around 84 degrees on cool nights. Would recommend this pool heater to anyone. Easy to setup. Can be a little tricky to figure out how to set to 90 degrees, but once you do............NICE!

So glad I got this!
I ordered a similar heater that was from China and 1/3 the price of this one, but it stayed on for about 10 minutes, shut down and wouldn’t restart. I returned the Chinese one, bit the bullet on the price and ordered this unit. Once I realized you had to have the screen in sunshine mode with the sun symbol on the screen, it’s been working perfectly all summer. I expected my electric bill to go up because we have cool nights in Illinois but any increase was negligible. It keeps the pool at a steady 84 degrees for me and could have gone higher. The fittings work great with my Intex above-ground pool. It’s an expensive unit, but definitely worth the money. I have a much larger electric (wired to the house electricity) in Florida for a small in-ground pool that goes for about $2,500 and if you use it every day your electric bill will go up at least $150/month. This unit just plugs in to an extension cord (you need a certain type - mentioned in the instructions). One thing I do that helps with energy costs is I always keep my pool covered with a bubble Solar cover when it’s not in use.

Disappointing - controller is not rated for outdoors
Update Sep 9-2024: After multiple attempts to contact Fibropool short of going to BBB, the company stayed silent and I have not heard back from anyone. I ended up purchasing the controller with my own money and not sure now what their written warranty really covers. Updated Sept. 4-2024 After heavy rains in Florida 2 controllers died. The first one was replaced by Fibropool - very good and fast service. The second one just died last week, apparently due to water intrusion. I had the cover closed all the time - obviously there must be a design flaw as these units need to be rated for outdoors. The company's rep - Brennan - finally responded to me after 5 days stating that I need to buy a new controller at my own cost as "they already redeemed my warranty" for previous unit. The company states that their heat pumps have 10 year warranty which seems contradictive to my case. If these controller boards burn out after every rain, how is this supposed to last for many years? I have submitted another request to Fibropool and will update their response here. Original review This is my second unit in my second house. The first one was F120 and this one is F135. Both worked extremely well. The F135 is much more powerful and can get my 10K gallon pool from 82 to 88 in 4 hours or so on high circulation. This unit has received several great updates, metal casing and fan prop appear to be made of hard plastic which is very-very quiet and does not rust. After 4 months in rain and outside my unit looks like on day 1 and it is very quiet when running. I need to go and see if the fan is spinning to know if it is working or feel the water in the pool. Honestly, as a portable heating device which plugs into a standard 120V outlet, this is amazing. It works great and install was a breeze. Just connect the plumbing, plug and play! I reached out the Fibropool guys with a couple of questions and they responded in less than 2 hours and gave me instructions and offered help. Everything was resolved in less than 1/2 a day. In my next pool, this is what I will get again. I am telling all my neighbors to buy this vs the ginormous expensive and loud heater. Thanks again, Fibropool!

Happily ever after
Awesome! My son-inlaw and I are always skeptical about products, but our above ground pool was not getting used that often because the water was so cold, so we gave this heat pump a try. Right from the moment it arrived, everything looked good. The product was nicely packaged, the design on the outside looked clean and sleek and all the advertized parts were supplied. I actually didn't think we could hook it up easily, I suspected hose fitting issues, but we had it hooked up and plugged in in under an hour, with no leaks! Within 48 hours the pool temp is at a very pleasant 88 and we can hardly hear the pump running even when we're in the pool.
