I just started taking this product. If it raises my vitamin D levels, I will change this to a five start rating! I know this is of great quality, clean ingredients and vegan so I am sure it will deliver.Update. Vitamin D levels have been raised significantly!

I became a bit uneasy about this supplement when I noticed that the daily recommended intake is a whopping 625%. Excessive vitamin D can pose risks. Having elevated levels (beyond 375 nmol/L or 150 ng/mL) may lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, confusion, pain, loss of appetite, dehydration, increased urination and thirst, and even kidney stones. If you believe you require such a high dose of vitamin D, it's advisable to consult a physician before adding this supplement to your routine.

My blood tests always come back that I am low in Vitamin D, which is strange because I am a sun worshipper. So, I always include Vitamin D capsules in my daily routine. These capsules are made from algae; I never knew you could get vitamin D from algae, and it sounds good to me. Vitamin supplements can be tricky to review. While they all include the standard FDA disclaimer about not being scientifically proven, sometimes you just feel that they work.I would put this vitamin D3 in that category. I take a D3 supplement due to naturally low levels, which my doctors says contributes to fatigue, muscle aches, and a tendency to walk with a small degree of instability. I’ve been taking D3 supplements for the better part of the year, but liked the idea of switching to a natural, organic compound. These from Sunwarrior fit that bill, made from algae with organic rice and seaweed-based capsules. For those worried about any odd taste, I have not found out to be the case. The capsule is very easy to swallow.The only concern I have is that studies have shown that the maximum recommended dose is 4000 IU or 100mcg, if taken out a daily basis. These exceed that, at 5000/125, so you may want to consult with your doctor to get their thoughts.All in all, if you take vitamin D3, and like the idea of naturally sourced ingredients, this is a solid choice.

Sunwarrior Organic Vitamin D3Well, it’s winter, and time to start taking vitamin D, since sunlight is in short supply.This is vitamin D3, the best form for bio-availability. The 5000 unit strength is very good for winter use.When I order vitamins, I look for third party analysis of purity, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) adherence.I could not find a third party analysis indication, but this product is certified organic by the USDA, and that is sufficient. There is a GMP sticker.Aside from those indications, this capsule appears to be of excellent quality. There are no broken or empty capsules. It is even packed in glass instead of plastic.The gelcaps are easier to swallow than the hard gelatin capsules of many other products.As is common with good vegan products, there is a price penalty, but this capsule appears to offer excellent value for money.I would recommend this Sunwarrior product to a friend for quality and value.

Easy to swallow and tastes nice.

This is a high potency Vitamin D3 supplement. Definitely not something I will be taking on a daily basis. Because of the dosage, this is a supplement I will take 2-3 times a week. This is a bit different, it is a capsule, not a small oil gel pill. Much different from the usual Vitamin D supplement. But still easy to swallow.I like the fact it is organic. They are certified GMP. All this makes me comfortable when ordering and taking supplements from this company.

This is an exceptionally high amount - 5000 IU - of Vitamin D3, so I'll be taking these capsules only a couple of times a week and fill the in-between days with a lower potency dose. But I'm quite happy with them; the capsules are small enough that I can swallow fairly comfortably and, of course, there's no doubt in my mind as to the benefits of D vitamins. Especially as winter approaches - a season during which I'm unable to get out for my morning walks anywhere near as often as in the other three - I'm confident I'll be getting enough to at least maintain bone and muscle support.
