Plant Nanny 12PGL 12oz Watering Globe & Stake Set, Plum/Purple

These globes are so pretty and do a great job of watering when I forget. I have a Christmas cactus that is at least 70 years old and huge. This is the second globe I have bought for it (one on each side) to make sure I don't kill it.

In summary - does exactly what it says it does, with pizzazz, while failing to deliver on the look and feel as advertised.The Plant Nanny 12oz Purple Watering Globe arrived with same day shipping and no cracks, chips, or broken glass. Already, I was a happy camper, given how many of these products have reviews stating the product was broke upon shipping. My guess is that's the result of the smaller globe shape and lack of a long, thin tube for water to flow out of. The squat design is perfect for safe shipping and better durability than the "As Seen On TV" watering globes. Before I move on though, I must call out the disappointment I had when this arrived and the color was much more subdued than the advertised photo. It's truly just the hint of purple and not the deep rich color the seller presents. Practically clear and when the sun is hitting it just perfectly, might as well be. It still fits with my plant, but not the experience I was expecting.Installation is a breeze, just insert the terra cotta stake into your planter, twisting slightly as you go in to avoid damaging your roots. The depth of the stake drives how much water will flow into your plant, so if you want more water, go deeper. Otherwise, in my case, I left approximately an inch exposed. Functionally, the product appears to be operating exactly as designed. I filled up the globe (first time at approximately 3/4 full so I could monitor the water intake into the plant) and easily placed it inside the terra cotta stake. The rest is a breeze, just monitor the globe and add water as needed. The terra cotta stake will allow moisture to seep through from the globe to the soil, but at a pace that won't drown the plant.I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out, but so far (as of 6/12/18), I couldn't be happier (the color issue aside). For your reference, I am uploading a picture of the globe installed in my plant. My plant is contained in a 9" diameter round planter, approximately 4.5" in height for the bowl, and 13" in height from counter to leaf tips. As you'll see, the globe fits in perfectly, if perhaps a smidgen too big.Finally - because I want this review to be taken seriously, I feel obligated to state that I wrote this of my own choosing, I am not affiliated with Amz, the seller, or the manufacturer of this product. I bought it because I needed it. I paid for it with my own money. And I'm reviewing it because I feel people appreciate truly honest reviews.

This product did not work all the while I thought my flowers were being watered the dirt was bone dry! Waste of money

Does its job, work well, looks nice. All little smaller than I thought it woulwould do be but not too the point is a issue.

This watering globe works great to keep my fuchsia basket alive and consistently watered! We add more water probably once a week, twice if it's hot. Great for trips out of town too.

I use this to water a sedum that is planted in a tall hollow log. It looks beautiful, is easy to fill, and provides moisture to a plant that is growing in an unusual place. I do take them in during the winter, to keep it from breaking.

This works great for what I needed it for, but the color is nothing like the picture. The one I got had a very slight purplish tint to it and purple lines. I really wanted something a bit more colorful. I didn't sent it back because I needed it for a weekend trip that I was going on.

Only complaint is the color is more of a clear with very light purple on the lines. The photo does not capture the actual likeness of the product.
